I had dinner at Breek Cafe, located on the fifth floor of Ngee Ann City. It was a little late, close to 9.45pm when I visited, but I was informed they are still taking orders and serving customers. There were very few customers when we visited. The place is decorated with several USA memorabilia and photos, and the tables were clean, but were not set for diners, when we arrived which was puzzling. Perhaps they only set the tables when customers enter?I had their Cajun Chicken Chop ($15.90) which
The cajun chicken was really flavourful and tender and it was a decently big portion to satisfy most eaters. The outer skin was cooked to be a little crisp while the insides retained its softness and juiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed their waffle fries, which I felt was fried to a nice golden crispy brown, without being overly drenched soggy in oil. The outer parts are really crispy, while the potato insides were piping hot. Highly enjoyable.
Except for the slip up, my dining experience here was quite ok. The waiter was really attentive and really friendly, perhaps a little too cheerful (I hope it's not forced), but I guess we were the only last few customers left and I really appreciated his service despite nearing closing time. Citibank card holders also get to enjoy 10% off the bill for regular items for a limited period.
