Randomly walking at tanjong pagar and decided to try The Plain! I didn't realise that they only had breakfast menu only when I saw the menu. They do not have menus like booklets, but on a wall instead. The staff were all very friendly and even gave quite a few recommendations for us to try. We went ahead with Egg Mayo, Dean's breakfast and Iced chocolate. They have servings of small and large and I find that to be quite good! We ordered small for both dishes. Egg mayo was nice! Egg mayo was nice! How wrong can you go with egg mayo? Very generous portion of egg mayonaise. The bread is kind of hard though.
Dean's breakfast was quite an adventurous dish to try as it's quite salty. But the poached egg made it less salty and it becomes a good combination!
Iced chocolate was great!! One of the best iced chocolate and it's a must try! It's not too sweet, and with just a nice amount of chocolate flavour.
The cafe has quite a nice ambience. They have a large square communal table which is good if you're with alot of friends as well as a more private and quiet area towards the back. I saw quite alot of people coming in just for the coffee so I'll definitely give it a try if I'm in the vicinity!
