I have been to several astons and though this is the closest one to me. This is the first time I am visiting them. Unlike other Astons in shopping centers, this is nett priced! No additional service charge. I do not mind walking 2 meters up to the counter to collect my own food and since it is a coffee shop owned by Broadway. There are cleaners to clean up the tables as well! After we ordered, we were given this beeper to alert is when our food was ready. The food took a while and my dad was alr

After we ordered, we were given this beeper to alert is when our food was ready.
The food took a while and my dad was already contemplating getting a $2.50 plate of hainanese chicken rice whilst starving. So minus points on service here. It was 1130am and we were one of the 5 customers waiting for our food and nothing was coming out of the kitchen.
The crispy fried chicken came with Mac n cheese and tasty rice $8. I love the mac n cheese sauce and ate the rice with that cheesey awesomeness! The chicken was indeed crispy and it was tender. Overall a decent dish!
Next we had the crispy fish with potato salad and onion rings $8. The red potatoes in the potato salad were awesome! I love how Aston leaves the potato skins on them the portions were generous! The fish itself was okay, nothing to rave about other than the fish being crispy.
All in all $16 for the 2 dishes to feed 3 people we were rather hungry at this point after waiting quite a while for our food. But I do suspect a lot of MSG in the food as I felt quite thirsty after the meal. And since it is a coffee shop, teh siew Dai bing (milk tea less sweet) to the rescue!
