As i didn't want to keep my mum at home waiting, I bought back one plain egg tart for $1.30. When ordering, the girl at the counter had to shout to the chefs inside the kitchen to bring one egg tart out, which is great considering the fact that the last time I ordered an egg tart, the counter person would just pick one from the metal trays outside the kitchen...not freshly baked. But this time round, it was a hot and crispy egg tart for me!!!

Taste:
Good Points - The egg tart was still hot after i reached home! (about 5 min walk) Excited, I happily bit into the hot crust, which is flaky and not at all burnt. It was slightly hard at the edges and was not too thick nor too thin to hold the custard, a plus point, and you can barely taste the butter used. The custard is oh-so-sweet, mushy, soft, delicious when eaten with the crispy crust!
The caramelized skin of custard is thin and chewy.
Bad Points - The whole egg tart was tad tooo oily for me. I had to use the paper towel given to dab the oil from the crust and the top caramelized custard skin.

Overall: Egg Tarts from KFC can be an occasional treat, and those who are scared that it would be too sinful to eat the egg tart oily can just remove the oil using a paper towel
Nonetheless, I still love egg tarts and will definitely be back for more!!
