Impromptu dinner with buddy on one of the weekdays. We decided to have dinner at Orchard Central shopping mall which is walking distance from Somerset MRT station. Kilo & Pact was my choice that night as I was attracted with their unique combination of food, hair salon & fashion retail shop.We went there after 7.30pm and most of the seats are taken. We of course choose the seats that facing the orchard streets. I love looking through the glass seeing the cars moving and people walking down the streets.
The foods are fushion combination of Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine. The dishes are quite modern which takes on the traditional of both cuisine. We hadBaked Salmon @S$28.00.Salmon with white wine mushrooms and wasabi mash. Wasabi mash sound interesting for me so I decided to give it a try. I can’t taste much of the wasabi taste though. But the salmon was nicely done.
Balsamic Duck @S$29.00.Duck leg with butter potato mash and sesame asparagus. The mash was in chunky side and we enjoyed having it together with the sauce for the dish.The duck meat texture was moist and tender and compliments well with the side dishes.
We ordered Hitachino Pale Ale beer to try. A bottle costs S$15.00 each and we had 2 bottles that night. The beer tasted fairly bitter taste and slightly sweet malt flavour at the edge of sip. The beer isn’t too gassy too.
In terms of services, the staffs are not so attentive. We had difficulties having attention from them throughout the dinner. Neverthless the staff does greet us with a smile all the time.Overall dinner was S$102.40 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% service charge. Slightly pricey for the meal but the lighting of the restaurant gives a soft touch of cosy feeling to customers especially for couples.So if you are looking for a cosy atmosphere dinning place, Kilo Pact would be one of the choice.
