I went to Yan Palace at Warren Country Club with my parents for weekend family breakfast. They have really good dim sum there and all their dim sum comes around in a push cart. The dim sum ladies are very attentive, when they see you just arrive, they will push to your table so you need not have to wait long for the food to arrive. Here are some of the food we ordered, 2 servings of Steamed Prawn Dumpling Ha Kow ($4 per serving), 2 servings of Steamed Chicken Claw with spicy sauce ($2.90 per serving), 2 servings of Steamed Crystalline Seafood Dumpling ($4 per serving), 1 serving of Pan fried beancurd skin roll ($4) and 3 servings of deep fried almond prawn balls with mango ($4.50 per serving). We did not order the normal siew mai and char siew pau cos it was pretty common, we wanted to try something new and everytime we finish a serving, we kept ordering back the same thing cos it was so good.

The Steamed Prawn Dumpling Ha Kow was really good, the prawns were super fresh and the meat was succulent and crunchy. One serving came in four which mean we only got one to eat so we ordered another one cos it was just not enough. The skin of the ha kow was not too thick, it has this elasticity and very chewy though it was not too thick.

I shared one serving with my mother, we simply love the sauce they marinated the chicken claw with, it was a little spicy but very flavourful. The chicken skin simply melts in your mouth. the price of one serving is so reasonable too, $2.90 for such quality food.

The steamed crystalline seafood dumpling was really good, the skin is similar to that of the ha kow, the filling inside is really good, love the freshness of the prawn, the meat was just simply so sweet. one serving only comes in three, luckily we ordered another one more serving. The bill came up to $50 plus which is pretty reasonable.

The pan fried beancurd skin roll was just so so, I dun really like too much fried stuff, it was a little oily so did not eat too much of that.

The deep fried almond prawn balls with mango I feel was the highlight of the day. They coated the prawn ball with almond flakes, the almond flakes make the ball very crunchy. inside the ball, they also added mango on top of the prawn. The mango was very fragrant and give it a unique taste. It was so good we ordered 3 servings.

On weekends, they charged additional amount of $6. They called it a weekend special charge. Dun find it special at all. But the food was really good.
