The Line Shangri-La / The Line Buffet Restaurant @ Shangri-La Hotel truely embodies the concept of 'International Buffet Spread'. With 16 theatre kitchens offering dishes from major Asian and Western cuisines, a spread of fresh seafood and an extensive range of desserts, the biggest problem you'll face at the The Line Shangri-La is knowing where to start, and where to stop.

Ambience at The Line Shangri-La / The Line Buffet Restaurant @ Shangri-La Hotel is modern and contemporary, with furnishings and layouts designed by famed American interior designer Adam D. Tihany. Actual decor is minimal though. But importantly, the layout of the 16 theatre kitchens is rather orderly, and accessing or finding a particular station is easy. The open concept adds to the overall ambience of the place, and the area is very well ventilated, with little lingering smell of cooking, thus making The Line Shangri-La one of the better buffets for ambience in Singapore.

Food at The Line Shangri-La / The Line Buffet Restaurant @ Shangri-La Hotel is excellent. Ingredients used are fresh, and the majority of dishes I had were tasty. Range is extensive, with cuisines from Japan, India, China, Southeast Asia and Italy. Over 100 different types of dishes are represented here, and well over 30 different desserts. You'll never be able to finish eating everything in a single visit, which makes The Line Shangri-La / The Line Buffet Restaurant @ Shangri-La Hotel one of the few buffets worth multiple repeat visits. Furthermore, the spread changes slightly everyday, with different dishes available on each day.

All this comes at a price, as dining at The Line Shangri-La / The Line Buffet Restaurant @ Shangri-La Hotel is quite expensive. Without any promotions, expect to pay about SGD $50 - $90 per person, depending on whether you're eating breakfast, lunch or dinner.
