i've never really been a fan of shepherd's pie ($18.90), but i was smitten once i took a bite of out this. a slightly crispy outer coat with soft mushy potato inside, with an absolutely tasty combination of premium australian minced beef, carrots, onions, celery and leek. it must have been the sauce that made it so wonderful.

since the pies are a special feature of this restaurant, we definitely had to try more than one! (: the tender roasted chicken pie ($18.90) was a delight with the fluffy puff pastry topped with slices of chicken, and filled with a goodness of more chicken, roasted potatoes, mushrooms and carrots inside.
we also ordered the caesar salad of baby romaine hearts ($13.90). the leaves of the salad were crunchy, and i loved the thin strips of prosciutto di parma ham and the sharp taste of the parmesan cheese shavings that complemented the veggies perfectly. the best part? under the pile of leaves was a beautiful sous vide egg that was so gorgeous we could hardly bear to burst it
and who could resist the crunchy croutons
