Went to all the malay stalls and asked for takeaway ikan bilis in a tub. NONE of them wanted to sell just ikan bilis! Then I found Lee Wee and they sold ikan bilis in a tub! You can choose to have ikan bilis original with peanuts and chilli or ikan bilis withOUT peanuts with chilli. I love the ikan bilis without peanuts, so i got a pack. The ikan bilis without peanuts is more expensive than the ikan bilis with peanuts. Without peanuts is $3.20 for 120 grams. With peanuts is $2.70 for 120 grams.T
The ikan bilis was sticky and a bit spicy and very salty and crunchy. It doesn't taste as fresh and good as the malay stall's ikan bilis that are fried on the day. But if you want to takeaway, this is your only option.
Not really recommended as it didn't taste like malay ikan bilis. And it's very expensive. And it's made of the big ikan bilis which are more bitter than the small ikan bilis due to more intestines.
