My parents brought me for dinner here years ago, and I remember it being awesome because of the whole riverside dining experience. So I decided to surprise the boyfriend with dinner here one night. As much as he liked the novelty of it all, we both decided it was overpriced and the food ain't that good for us to go back again anytime soon. The name of the restaurant says it all. Before the advent of places like pepper lunch, this was still a pretty cool concept where you get to cook your own meat

The name of the restaurant says it all. Before the advent of places like pepper lunch, this was still a pretty cool concept where you get to cook your own meat. Sadly, however, we were presented with slabs of meat which took way too long to cook. Of course, they kindly offered to reheat our stone slabs, but it had to be reheated twice! In the end, it was a good 45-minutes before we could enjoy our steaks, and by then, those that had been cooked earlier were already tough and cold.

It was exciting when it first arrived, sizzles and all, but it is difficult to perfect the rareness of the meat with these self-cook stones. It was fun, sure, but for the money, I would've been better off spending it elsewhere on better steaks.
