Krispy Kreme! The doughnuts that was a talk of the town since its opening in October 2013 at the basement of Tangs Plaza. The queue was not as long as I had expected on a Sunday morning and we decided to join and check it out.The selection of flavours were much more than I expected, I was told that there were about 16 kinds of flavours. The selection of flavours were much more than I expected, I was told that there were about 16 kinds of flavours. I bought a dozen of them and had them packed into 2 boxes. For a dozen of assorted donuts, it costs $26.50 while for original glazed flavour, it costs only about $23.50.Customer can opt for 1 big box or 2 small boxes to contain the dozen of donuts.
We took the counter seat and just in front, this was what we saw on the wall.
We could not resist the temptation and immediately after paying up at the counter, we sat at one of their corners and decided to munch them up!
Ta-da, here's what we had bought.From left to right (Top to Bottom Row) :
Row 1: Red Velet Powered Strawberry Filled, chocolate Ice glazed, Original glazed,
Row 2: Chocolate Dream cake, Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Apple Filled, Almond all over,
Row 3: Coffee, Cookies and Cream, Cappuccino and glazed vanilla cake
The doughnuts overall was different as they were not oily and every bite on the doughnut, you will realized that the interior was packed with mini bits of crumbs which gave a different sensational level while enjoying the assorted flavours.
Just at the side of the box, there was a illustration on how to enjoy hot original glazed doughnuts anytime by putting them in the microwave and ready to serve in 8 seconds.
Safe to eat for Muslims pals as Krispy Kreme is Halal Certified. Staws, serviettes, sugar etc can be obtain at their self service counter.
To sum up, each donut costs about $2 plus and price was dear. They were too sweet for me just to go plain without any cup of beverages. I'm not a fan of donuts but it still beats me as I still could not understand the hype over such pricy doughnuts.
