I went to Sin Hoi Sai during my Chu Er Chinese New Year and Business was as usual. This shop has been around many many years back and even way before I was born. I heard sayings that they were once asked to relocate but they had chosen to stay because of its location and its customer base. Well, looking at its crowd, it seems like this 'old brand name' has been well-liked by my parents' generation.FoodThey have their house brand wet tissue which we paid $1 for 2 packets of Wet Tissue.$3 for a wa
Food
They have their house brand wet tissue which we paid $1 for 2 packets of Wet Tissue. $3 for a warm plate of braised peanuts to keep your mouth exercising while waiting for the food to be served. A small version Sweet & Sour Pork at $12 for 2 person. No doubt the taste and crunchiness is there, i still prefer more meat instead of just cripsy stuff. I have skipped my white rice and replaced it with Fried Vermicelli at $8. This dish is still decent enough and above standard. Quite worth while to have Spring Onion with Sliced Fish at $13. At least I dont feel short change considering the amount of slices I have! I will say that their standard is consider better than those ordinary zi char stall. I love this dish - Toufu Skin with kailan $12. It's kind of special to me. Toufu skin is slim and smells good! Sweet and salty in taste. Service
Service is ok but when it comes to billing, we have to wait for a long time.
Ambience
A family place for dinning. Lots of joys and laughters, conversations going across the restaurants can be heard. Loud! I wont consider noisy but very heart warming to see how Singaporean families gathered together.
Price
Rather abit steep but I can understand that due to its air conditioned environment. There's always a price to pay for!
Recommendation / Tips
Due to that its quite pricy, it's hardly I will make more than 3 visits in a year. However, I will still consider to bring my family/parents here for dinner.
