There are many Indian eateries and restaurants in Singapore and we are more familiar with South Indian cuisine. But Tandoori Corner is serves North Indian cuisine which may be less prevalent. My colleague and I stumbled upon this restaurant while we went to collect stuffs from that area during lunch time. We decided to give it a try.The interior restaurant was quite cosy, simple and elegant for an Indian restaurant. The space is quite limited and I think cannot hold more than 30-40 people. We ar
The interior restaurant was quite cosy, simple and elegant for an Indian restaurant. The space is quite limited and I think cannot hold more than 30-40 people. We are able to get our seats immediately during lunch time.
Lunch menu was presented to us by the staff. They served various choices for lunch menu at the price not more than S$15.00. Since it is 2 of us, we choose two different lunch set to share. Tandoori Chicken Tikka @S$10.90.
The boneless marinated chicken chunks grilled to perfection in the tandoor served with mint chutney. Tandoori chicken is a popular Indian dish consisting of roasted chicken prepared with yogurt and spices. The name comes from the type of cylindrical clay oven, a tandoor, in which the dish is traditionally prepared. The marinated chicken chunks taste a bit dry for me after a few bites. But the grilled and the colour of the marinated chicken does gives a good impression to enjoy the dish. Non-Vegetarian seat meal with the choice of Mutton Set Meal @S$9.50.
The meal comes with mutton, vegetables, dhal, rice and naan. The rice taste like nasi briyani and the texture is slightly hard compare to the rice texture that we Chinese have normally. I love the mutton that comes with the rich gravy. The mutton texture was soft and tender. The gravy overflowing onto the rice and naan gives the overall taste yummy.
The staffs are very prompt to our request. They will re-fill our drinks promptly. Serving time was less than 20 minutes which is up to the serving standard. Total lunch costs S$22.44 which includes 10% service charge and no GST charges. We were greeted with smile when we walked into the restaurant and ‘thank you for visiting’ when we left. This make us feel that they do value their customers who patron the restaurant. No wonder we saw the recommended TripAdvisor sticker at the front entrance of the restaurant.
