Their queue was one of the longest in the food centre on a quiet Saturday afternoon. This is usually the sign of 2 things : good food or cheap food. It might be for both reasons too. Their queue was one of the longest in the food centre on a quiet Saturday afternoon. This is usually the sign of 2 things : good food or cheap food. It might be for both reasons too. I joined in the queue and waited for 15 minutes to order. The stall owner was cooking quite slowly and that somehow explained the long queue a bit. I ordered the $2.50 bowl of mee hoon kuay.

The portion was quite generous served with ingredients like minced meat, lean meat, vegetable, prawn and poached egg. It might not be the best mee hoon kuey but i enjoyed the delightful homely taste. It tasted just like what my Grandpa used to cook for me. The texture of mee hoon kuey made from the handmade dough was a little lumpy with a bit of unevenness in thickness but in a good way. The soup base was rather light with a little peppery taste.

It was a simple yet enjoyable lunch.
