Pepper lunch rice has something magical in it that I love a lot - a combination of butter-stirred rice, black pepper overdose, and honey brown sauce. Most of all, it is always piping hot. Today I tried Beef Pepper Rice ($6.50 for student meal price) which is different from the Salmon/Chicken Pepper Rice that I usually eat. I still find that chicken pepper rice is the best out of these three because the meat is the most tender. Beef is a bit hard but maybe it's because I was busy taking pictures and not flipping the meat in time. It is quite tough to eat.
After you stir fry everything for about 30 seconds, you should drizzle it with two rounds of Honey Brown Sauce and continue mixing it. Unlike the other branches (like at Bugis/Suntec City), the meal does not include the miso soup here. If there is miso soup, you can also pour one spoonful over. You can see how it sizzles, it's quite fun! Don't put too much or it'll be too salty. This proportion as recommended gives it the best taste, in my opinion. (After trying for quite a few times)
Pepper Lunch is usually quite empty during the afternoons (4pm) and you can enjoy the whole place to yourself. I like the service here because they are super fast. My food arrived only 2 minutes after ordering.
