Keong Saik Road is often bustling with activity for both tourists and locals. Foong Kee Coffee Shop is one of the restaurants along this stretch that preserved its traditional facade and enjoys a thriving lunch crowd. We tried the duck meat with rice and the charsiew. Initially, we were too early (11.15am) and the charsiew was not ready yet, but subsequently it was ready at around 11.30am - so you know what time to arrive! I found that the duck meat that went with the rice wasn't tender enough; the sauce which was fragrant and delicious could also be thicker. I like my food flavours to be a little more intense these days. The charsiew hit the sweet spot, with slightly burnt sides and also it was laced with luscious sweet honeyed sauce.
