I came across Sapporo petit doughnuts when I was shopping around takashimaya with my mum. I came across Sapporo petit doughnuts when I was shopping around takashimaya with my mum. Actually I would not consider their snacks as a doughnut but more likely the fish pancake you can find at ooki taiyaki. The texture of the doughnut is actually more of chewy then it is soft. There are different flavours and fillings inside. I bought eight but only four flavours so that my mum and I can have one flavour each, it is kind of hard to actually share one cos it is really small in size. I bought the kaya, red bean, milk almond and dragon fruit flavours.

The red bean is shaped really cutely, in the shape of the merlion. They really add a lot of fillings inside. Mum and I found it kind of sweet, but the red bean paste was very thick and rich in the red bean flavour. I think it is nice of them to use something that represents our country.

the kaya and milk almond were shaped in a round ball shape. The milk almond did not have any filling, just the rich fragrance of the milk almond. It was really sweet smelling, the almond fragrance was not too strong, but it did have this lingering taste in your mouth after awhile. Fortunately, the almond taste did not overpower the milk taste. I really adore the milky fragrance, so fresh smelling. Best eaten straight after the sweet red bean one.

The kaya they used is the hainanese kind, very creamy and somehow despite the generousity of the kaya, it was not that sweet. The kaya was pretty thick and rich in flavour, the coconut fragrance makes it really nice to eat.
The dragon fruit one was something quite unique, the paste was really thick, a little sweet too but it was good. a flavour you can hardly find outside.

These really make great snacks.
