Prior to this visit i've been to Baikohken once. It didn't leave much impression. Ordered the shio ramen that time and sadly the soup was very bland.

After reading ieatishootipost list of top 10 ramen. I decided to give this place a try again.
Heeded the advice from the blog and had a shoyu charsiew ramen and boy was i not disappointed.

The charsiew are tender and not too fat. And they're really very generous with their portion. They gave 5-6 slices of the charsiew and i was in for a treat! Ramen is curly and Q enough. Just the way i like my noodles. Shoyu soup base tasted robust with a nice aromatic flavour brought out by the soya sauce. The bamboo shoots were very disappointing here, the smell was abit overbearing and i do think they should have sliced it thinner. And their egg yolk wasn't runny enough.

Overall its a great bowl of shoyu ramen and definitely value for ramen. I will be back. =)
