Ananda Bhavan may not be the cheapest place in Little India for a South Indian snack, but it's really clean and the food is great. All of the food is 100% vegetarian (there are even signs on the walls about the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle), but the food is so yummy you won't notice the absence of meat. I always get the Mysore Dosa ($5) which is like a masala dosa but with an extra chili/cashew sauce spread inside the dosa - so good. Of course, the dosas come with 3 chutneys. I'm also a

I'm also a fan of the idli (rice / lentil cakes) here. Most places only serve them during breakfast hours, but Ananda Bhavan serves them all day. I think they're 2 for $2.50 or so.
The setting is a bit sterile (order at the front, like a fast food restaurant) but it's clean and the service is very good. The staff speak great English, and easily explained the difference between a Mysore and Masala dosa to me
