Changi Village was quiet for an ordinary weekday afternoon. We came here for our Chalet Stay & was feeling lazy to cook on the second day. So we drove over to this foodist heaven for a late afternoon bite. This stall captured our attention as it was serving Sweet Potato Porridge. The rice in the porridge had flowered (indicating that it was well cooked) & the soft sweet potato were not mushy. The rice in the porridge had flowered (indicating that it was well cooked) & the soft sweet potato were not mushy. I would have say that this was a great eat if it was much hotter when it was served to us.

Afternote: Hubby said the 2nd bowl of Sweet Potato Porridge was hot & he enjoyed it very much.

We were not exactly spoiled for choices but were quite undecisive of what to order. All the dishes looked quite tempting. So we ended up with the followings...

I didn't eat this dish as I had Kuay Chap just the day before so hubby finished it. He said it just tasted so-so.

We found the long beans were rather soggy. The fragrance of the garlic actually stole the limelight of this dish.

I loved the Sambal Brinjals but would preferred them to be in smaller chunks. The brinjals were firm, the skin was easy to bite through & the chilli was not overpowering.

I've always liked eating Sweet & Sour Pork (咕噜肉), especially when they were stirfried with tangy sweet pineapples & fresh, crunchy cucumbers as in this case. This dish was cooked just the way I liked it. The cook used pork that were not too streaky & not too fat. It was well marinated. The sweet & sour sauce coated well to all the ingredients. It was good that the main ingredients were cubed of the same size for a nice eating experience.

Overall, it was a nice experience eating here.

Verdict:

I would suggest to eat here during proper meal hours so the temperature of the porridge would be kept consistently hot & the texture of the cooked veggies would still be crunchy.
