Food
Ya Kun has gained its reputation over the years, famous for its half boil egg and toasts - their standard is there as it is not easy to catch the timing of boiling the half boiled egg. Abit over cook or under cook, the eggs will be headed directly into the trash!

Ordered a peanut toast set which consists of a bowl of hard bowl egg, a play of peanut toast and a drink (tea/coffee) but I have changed to Silky Barely.

It was indeed a very hot day outside. We decided to get the largest sillkyz barley with ice to cool our body down. The smaller barley comes from the set ordered while the bigger one is the additional.

First time ever tried Yakun's Peanut toast. I will prefer the butter-kaya toast to the peanut. This is because that the bread is quite dry and together with the peanut butter jam, it makes everything turns drier no doubt that the bread is toasted till very cripsy.

Comes in a basket of 8. The kaya balls (at $3.00) are new on menu, kaya are well sealed inside the doughy shell and presented on a basket, presentation seems different - instead of placing in the usual red color plate.

After munching few pieces of the kaya balls, i felt very sick of it. The coating of the dough is not as cripsy as I thought, and instead it was quite moist together with the kaya inside. I feel like eating dough. Luckily we share among ourselves.

We were sitting at one corner and there was this sign that mentioned not to lean. It's a partition where the sauces(pepper, soya sauce for the eggs) are placed. Flimsy as it said.

Service
Semi Self service. If they cannot give your order instantly. They will give you a number and your order will be sent to your table respectively. Also, they are quite slow in clearing the tables. As customers, we have to clear the tables ourselves before tucking in ourselves.

Ambience
The seats are never enough usually on a weekend. Imagine Yakun's tables and chairs size are already limited, the dinning area are just too small especially during peak hours. Since its located in Funan mall where most of the dinners will have a teabreak there after buying computers/cameras etc, they should think of having bigger space for dinners to place their stuff.

Price
Price is standard across all its outlets. As for the kaya balls, there's nothing significant about them. More room for improvement.

Recommendation / Tips
Be prepared to clear tables if you want to dine there.
