I have eaten at Shin Yeh at Taipei and loved it there. This prompted me to try the one in Singapore for the first time with the equally high expectations. I went for late lunch. I agreed to order just a glass together with a glass of their signature Bubble Milk Tea （珍珠奶茶）. Both drinks were served quickly to the table. I tried both drinks and actually prefer the Bubble Milk Tea very much more. I could not quite appreciate the distinct sourness and sweetness of the Black Plum Tea.
If you are a fan of the Braised Meat Rice（卤肉饭）then you have to try it here. This is the most authentic braised meat rice i ever tasted in Singapore. The braised meat and the braised egg must have been braised for hours to achieve such a taste. It has got the authentic taste that i have been missing dearly. The dish is served with salted vegetable then garnished with the coriander leaf. Steamed Minced Meat with Salted Egg is another must order. The texture of minced meat was steamed perfectly to give it the essential softness at the right level of saltiness. The taste was further enhanced by the salted egg used.
Every customer will be served a piece of the complimentary Muah Chee (麻薯). I enjoyed the soft and chewy texture of the Muah Chee served coated generously with grounded peanuts. Such is simple goodness.
