I held the thought that the food court in Lucky Plaza would be quite cheap (oh, the stereotyping) - but hey, no it isn't, really. On the contrary, it is very expensive if you were to compare it to normal food courts. The drinks here cost about $3 on average, or $2+ for a cup of soft drink. It is the ground for tourists to be preyed upon. On another note, Asian Food Mall should be renamed as Phillipines Food Mall instead. They have all sorts of Filipino specialties including their dessert, Halo-H

On another note, Asian Food Mall should be renamed as Phillipines Food Mall instead. They have all sorts of Filipino specialties including their dessert, Halo-Halo. You don't normally see that in your regular Kopitiam/ Food Junction/ Food Republic/ Kou Fu, do you?

After traveling around the food court for a few rounds, I decided that the Claypot Rice here looked the most appetizing... unfortunately it isn't too cheap. I ordered the Hotplate Beancurd Rice ($6).

Touted to be a MSG-free stall, after I saw the way they prepared my food, I am completely convinced. Because they drizzled a whole lot of soy sauce, dark sweet sauce and sesame oil - it is definitely MSG-free but seasoning and sauce spammage activity into my food. (Who needs MSG when you can have a reservoir of store-bought sauces?)

It didn't taste too different from what I can cook in the kitchen with some tinkering around... pretty disappointing actually, especially since the tofu wasn't the soft egg tofu I hoped it would be like in the usual tze char stalls. It was also wayyy too salty for normal human intake.

The canned vegetables sprinkled on the side didn't justify for its cost either. Not recommended - maybe something else would be better.
