This outlet at Ang Mo Kio always has long queues and you have to be prepared to wait - for at least 15 minutes or more.On that day, though, we waited just five minutes.The ambience of this restaurant is very rustic and gives one the impression that they have travelled back to the good old days - years ago!The waitresses are aptly dressed in authentic Chinese outfits while the tables and chairs are made of wood. Of course, one is jolted back to the present when the food arrives!
The Sharks Fin soup with Crabmeat was our starter - full of richness and sumptuous indeed! It was thick and delicious and full of flavour! It didnt really need any flavourings, such as pepper and vinegar - it was so good on its own!
Next came the Fried Bee Hoon. Though it looked light, it had been fried with some special sauce that gave it so much of rich taste - a true stealer!
For vegetables, we had the Celery with Snow Peas and Cuttlefish.
Every part of this dish was worth savouring - especially the cuttlefish!
In addition we also had the Egg omelette - packed with chives and prawns.
All these wonderful dishes went well with the free flow of Chinese Tea.
The service is fast and the food arrives pretty quickly as well.
Will definitely go back for more...
