Forest Dew Restaurant located near Boon Keng MRT was famous for vegetarian food. Maybe you cannot imagine how capable they performing their dishes without any meat, fish or chicken. The huge variety of vegetarian food I didn't seen before, a wide range of choices until we don't know what supposed to order. The waiter then recommended us some signature dishes which their chef proud of. The restaurant was not too big, but looked clean with tables and chairs neatly arranged.($6.00 per plate)My first
My first try, Vegetarian Satay. It really tasted like normal chicken satay, it was tender and the sauce was made with coconut milk and peanut butter which was savory , spicy and slightly sweet. ($18.00 per big bowl)
It sounds a bit funny, indeed, its name was Fish Curry but without putting any fish inside the curry. We found Beans, Potatoes, Tomatoes 'Tou Pok' and 'vegetarian fish'. ($12.00 per pot)
Suprisingly, the soup full of freshness of vegetable and 'Tofu'. Although it was plain, yet, because it was served in small pot, the soup appeared delicious as it combined all tastes of vegetables. The soup is always hot for you. ($10.00 per plate)
I hate those dry-fried long beans which were served uncut. That's why I quite happy with the size of beans here. For the taste, it was simple, just like what my mum cooking. ($9.00 per plate)
The waiter told us the secret recepi from chef, the 'pork' was deep-fried twice for extra crispiness. It was pretty good! No matter for its looking or the taste. ($8.00 per big plate)
It tasted like Cantonese Fried Rice, with seaweed, carrot, corn and egg which looked colourful and tasted flavourful too. (2.50 per any 3 flavours)
Jello, maybe some of peoples called it Agar-agar, was a simple dessert which suitable for eating after meal. It was not too sweet for both flavours. We ordered Lemon, Strawberry and Sour Plum.
Too bad, I only can upload maximum eight pictures here. The food really surprised me, never thought that vegetarian food also can be so delicious. Overall, the portion is okay for us, so as to the price. It was reasonable and we enjoyed to eat vegetarian here. For you information, all of us are meat-hunter.
