After a tour of the area, the best place to dine with these VIP would definitely be the only restaurant on the top of the hill - the Hill Top Japanese Restaurant.

This teppanyaki Japanese restaurant is one of the best teppan places in Singapore. It may look straight out from the 70s but that's most likely because it's been there since the area was first developed in the 1970s. But the food is not outdated that's for sure!

You can tell that the restaurant is one of class as it comes with careful and elaborate attention to detail. From the orange apron that they give all guests to prevent you from dirtying your clothes to the complimentary pickles, to the sprinkling of sesame on your plain rice and the complimentary teppan vegetables at the end of your meal. The menu comes with a single column of different cuts of meat and no other explanation. It is quiet refinement.

The food is generally delicious and the beers are cheap. Try the garlic rice which is supposed to be one of their specialties. But white rice is just as good, depending on your preferences. When I was there, we were also served free ice cream or pudding (nothing fancy) at the end of the meal in an adjoining room to free up space around the teppan tables. It was definitely an experience.
