Another small cafe
Department of Caffeine
2013-11-28
We came 15 mins before the kitchen was closed. So we made order as fast as we could. I was dying to try the D.O.C Breakfast and my bf decided to try the shepherd's pie. Their signature cafe breakfast was so good but a lil bit pricey. However, the shepherd's pie was so so. This place has no GST and service charged. No wonder that service is a bit slow and the waiters werent even show their smiling face at all. For those who are around the area can drop by and give a try.…Read More

Sumire Yakitori House

Visited this place on early of November. My first impression, this place was too noisy but when the foods came, I dont think those noises bother me much as the foods were so fantastic. Me and le bf ordered quite a lot. Surprisingly, the tori ramen was so good and the tebasaki in shio and in spicy miso both were my fav. I will come back again with some friends soon. This place is really worth to try.…Read More

W39 Bistro & Bakery
2013-11-28
Visited this place 10 days ago during evening time with le bf. I ordered mocha, duck leg confit, homemade meatballs ( beef and chicken) and rainbow cakes. It took sometimes to serve the foods. So I went in to choose a cake for me to savour, luckily I had rainbow cake and I like so much coz it wasnt too sweet for my liking. However, the duck leg confit is a bit too dry. As for the homemade meatballs, me and bf couldnt decided which meatball is beef and chicken coz it just looked and tasted the same but we loved the tomato sauce, it was so yummy. For those who stay in the neighbourhood, this place is worth to try 😃…Read More

roasted meats galore
King's Roasts
2013-11-18
King's Roasts is the only roasted meats galore in the new Balestier Food Market that using a modern cooking style for roasting their meat. Nonetheless, the meat still taste traditionally juicy and succulent.I came with some friends and we decided to order a few of the dishes. Coz I was craving for chicken so I ordered the steamed chicken rice set meal that came with thai style tofu and baby cabbage with oyster sauce and some wonton in the soup. Basically, I got to try a little bit of everything and the best is it worth the money as the amount of rice and noodle are quite a lot.I am very picky with the charsiew meat, when my friend told me that their charsiew are nice and I didnt believe it until I tried a piece of it. Yes, it really has a very traditional taste unlike some places that has a bland taste of charsiew. What is more, I reckon they also has grilled pork ribs with sesame. I think I will come back again next time to try it. For the price range, we spent about $5 - $8 per person. For the meat lovers out there, you need to come down and try the roasted meats yourself. Enjoy peeps :)PS : for those who loved fried food, don't forget to try the fried dumpling/wonton that came with mayonnaise ( sorry there is no fried dumpling/wonton photo provided coz we forgot to take it ;p ) …Read More

Imperial Treasure Fine Shanghai Cuisine
2013-09-12
One fine Sunday, I just feel like wanna eat shanghai food so I just went to give this Imperial Treasure Shanghai Cuisine a try since it opened not long ago.As my first time there, I didnt know what to order so I just asked the waitress to recommend some of their signature dishes. She was friendly, polite and knowledgable about the menu. The most important was all the foods were delicious. So, my boyfriend and I ended up ordered 7 dishes. The things that I will always wanna have and never forget to order whenever I had Shanghai cuisine was the Fried Shanghai Pork Dumpling and it turned out very very yummy. I wont give any verdict of xiao long bao as I am not a fan of xiao long bao (steamed pork dumpling). The dumpling in chili oil tasted more delicious compared to the one I had at Din Tai Fung. I dont really like the lamien in eight treasure chili sauce. However, my recommendation would be the sauteed sliced us beef in Loaganma chili sauce and the xiao bai chai with iberico ham was very crunchy and it tasted marvelous. …Read More

Unforgettable dozo
Dozo Restaurant
2013-09-12
Dozo's menu is featured of the Japanese, European and France cuisines and i was amazed by how this modern fine dining Japanese restaurant introduce their sophisticated and elegance cuisine. I have no idea that this fine dining will blow away my mind. It has been so long that I had an excellent fine dining that has a fantastic taste from starter to the dessert. So basically, you will get to choose one of the options that are provided from their starter, cold dish, side dish, soup, main course and last but not least the dessert. Well well, dont forget about the drinks too Service is good, the staffs are very friendly and knowlegdable, they will recommend which is the best on the menu. The price is SGD 70 per pax and it is absolutely reasonable for the 7 course of fine dining yes i am talking about fine dining here. Here are the photos that I took during dinner :) Hope you guys enjoy IMG:8]…Read More

Best Nasi Lemak
Chong Pang Nasi Lemak
2013-09-12
Chong Pang Nasi Lemak is not only worth the value but also worth to queue. I ordered 3 meats and 2 veges and it costs sgd 5.20 and the approximate time to queue during dinner time is around 15-20 minutes. Basically, this chinese nasi lemak stall has a lot of varieties to choose from and it will make you cant stop ordering. However, I would like to recommend the crispy chicken wings and ikan bilis. The bad things about this nasi lemak are the stall has a limited seats and very far for those who stays in the city :( Overall this nasi lemak is good and I will definitely come back again.…Read More

My kind of steamboat
Haidilao Hot Pot
2013-09-12
The thing that make me wonder when the first time I visited this steamboat place was I need to make a reservation yes one week in advanced and I was like huh? What kind of steamboat is this? Well, this steamboat really worth it. The ingredients are fresh and up to the standard and worth the price. The service is so good and their staffs are very friendly even though they are so busy attending to their customers. I have been here for several time but kind of regret that I didnt take a lot of photo of the food to share here :( Here are the photos of some of the food that I ordered. I love the mala soup base, the black pork and beef are to die for. The flower crab is so fresh and really worth the price. I love the mantou with the condensed milk too :) If you wanna come for steamboat and dont wanna queue for at least 45 mins to an hour, you can try walk in at around 5pm. Dont worry if you need to queue for that long as they provide origami papers for you to fold some crane or you can eat longan and drink some tea ( not recommended lol as you need to make ypur stomach empty for the good food). Oh and yupe there is a free manicure service too :)…Read More

Superman Mudpie
Seventh Heaven
2013-09-12
I decided to try this Superman Mudpie after I saw a video of this mudpie icecream from one of Singapore blogger. My impression of this mudpie when it was being served, colorful as it added a cheerful dimension to the dessert , appealing that I cant wait to try it coz I need to take some pictures first. All right, my first scoop, hmm.. it didnt taste like I want it to be. I gave a chance for the second scoop and yupe I was so disappointed. This mudpie doesnt taste as good as what you see in the photo. The ice cream tastes like paddle pop ice cream from wall. .so mediocre... and it is expensive too :(:(…Read More
