Food on claypot
A-One Signature
2013-07-02
Try the double fish steamboat at this shop. The taste was not nice .Fish was not really fresh. And the soup get cold easily and when it was cold the whole soup become very sweet. Nothing special can get almost anywhere in other coffee shop. The claypot chicken porridge at least was much better than the fish steamboat. The porridge has generous ingredients inside including peanuts and the porridge was still hot after some time and it can be share among 2 as small bowls were avaliable to distribute the porridge.Overall pricing more expensive than coffee shop including the service charge and gst. Will only go for their porridge next time .…Read More

Went to this place at the basement for our dinner . It was quite crowded and had to queue in order to get a seat. We order the famous xiao long bao that come in 10 pcs and noodles soup with dumpling. When we bit into the xiao long bao soup come flowing out with the ingredients be careful when u eat it hot but it is best to eat it hot also. The noodles were springy as well with the dumpling. The soup base was quite flavourful as well. Overall a nice place to eat but too expensive for my budget.…Read More

Went to this place to eat for christmas eve as we intend to catch a movie after the dinner and did not want to go to the crowded place like orchard. As soon as we sit down we were offer a menu and to tick the food we intend to order on a piece of paper. We ordered the mushroom grilled chicken with Spaghetti and the sweet sour chicken with rice. And add a topping set meal with soup, lemon tea and garlic bread. Both orders come with a generous amount of salad vegetables. we also order a waffle with vanilla and raspberry ice cream. The main dish come with quite a big portion and i was quite full. The taste itself (both main) was ok not really declious nor really awful. The price itself was quite reasonable for that portion. The waffle was nicely decorated with raspberry sprinkle like an art piece, taste for the ice cream was so so only but the waffle itself was not too bad freshly baked and crispy on the border part . …Read More

Astons Express

Went to the hawker center there there to have my dinner decided to try the western food there. The stall was located inside a corner it was not very easy to notice and there was no crowd around. We decided to order herb grilled fish which i choose the mac and cheese and potato wedges as my sides. My friend order the lemon chicken with tasty rice and baked potato as the sides. We were then given an electronic device which will ring when our food is ready. the food finally arrived and we were happy that this is really value for money as the portion is reasonable and tasty too for that amount of price which cost us less than 8 dollars for one plate each.…Read More

Bumbu Restaurant

Decided to went there after see the channel 8 buffet buffet shows as i and my bf were looking for a buffet within our budget and it was recommended by the tv programme so i don think it will not be too bad. 1st of all the venue were not so accessible as we do not drive we have to walk quite a distance before reaching the place . We were immediately greet by the Peranakan style decoration. The place itself was not crowded so it was easy for us to take photos. We were served by a friendly staff and given a menu to order. We order the mini Spring Rolls, sliced fish with chilli, seafood with egg salad, kangkong with chilli and served it with rice . All these dishes were nice but nothing special about it especially the kangkong taste like what you can get in the zu chao hawaker centre. And our 2nd order we order this Gado Gado to our suprise it was really good it taste of rojak with plently of peanut on top . It was really nice we has the impluse to order a 2nd serving but the portion was quite big and we were quite full so we decided not to waste food if we cannnot finish it. We enjoy our meal and the staff were really friendly will visit there again of have the chance.…Read More

dim sum buffet
Ah Yat Restaurant
2012-12-15
Buy the deals for this dim sum buffet. We were told to order from a list of menu. I was glad that there is a lot of choice for the buffet. We didnt know that the amount of dim sum is so big portion so we end up order more than we can eat. 1st to order were the egg tarts . it was realy nice sweet inside and crunchy outside. We also order the char siew pao which was hand made. It tasted very nice also the meat inside was not too fatty. Also order other dim sum like fried carrot cake, chicken porridge, lotus rice. I take a peek at the menu price and realise the dim sum order by individual is quite expensive each set cost ard 5 dollars onwards. Guess will only go if there is a promotion going on .…Read More

Fresh fish
The Manhattan FISH MARKET
2012-12-07
Went to the fish market to have our dinner, order the set meal which come with a mushroom soup and the main dish. Was quite hungry so decided to order grilled fish that come with rice. We order the grilled fish with green herbs. At first was a bit digusted by the greenish stuff on the top of the fish then we dig in, to my surprise the greenish herb really bring out the aroma and the taste of the fish. it was really tasty and delicious which end up me craving for more. Too bad the food portion is a bit small compared to the amount of price we pay. …Read More

a different taste of burger
M.O.B (Most Original Burgers)
2012-12-07
Visit this burger restaurant and ordered their signature triple burger with three different fillings, It was call the goodfellas burger. one of the burger fillings is the smoked duck which turn out quite nice. The buns used to make the hamburger actually i do not really like it as it was too soft for my taste. The other 2 fillings was grilled chicken and salmon all tasted pretty normal nothing special. i guess it is more for people who like to have a taste of different burger at the same time .…Read More

Ala-Carte Dinner Buffet
Prosperous Kitchen
2012-04-19
Actually went there for the ala carte dinner buffet . The place there was quite hard to find and the shopping mall itself was not crowded even on a weekend. The restaurant was located inside the shopping mall. First we order the black pepper crab, the sharkfin and the abalone which was only one time serving. The black pepper crab was very delicious i cant help to want to have more as the crab was quite small not enough for one person. Next is the abalone it was served as a whole abalone on a plate with a califlower. The potion was quite alright for one person . The shark fin turn out to be the worst dish as it taste just like those night market fake shark fin which sell around $2 per bowl.We also order other dishes on the menu good thing for this buffet is we dont have to get our own food. The waiter will served us the food we order on the buffet menu. We order prawns cooked in different ways one is with sweet and sour sauce and one is with butter. The prawns was quite fresh and bouncy. We also order 3 cups chicken , claypot tofu, sweet and sour fish and even the dessert longan and almond was quite good. All of the dishes portion althought was quite small due to the fact it was a buffet we simply can order as many times as we want and there is really so much choice on the menu i think is is really valuable for the money.…Read More

Porridge buffet
The Rajah Inn
2012-04-18
I went there to have my porridge buffet with my bf and to my suprise they are also having an 10 percent discount promotion. The porridge buffet is quite cheap for the variety of dishes there althought it is nothing fancy as compared to those high end restaurant. The porridge is cooked with sweet potato making the porridge sweet even to eat it on its own without any dishes. There is a lot of chinese dishes to choose from including salted egg, braised chicken , fried fish , curry chicken and tofu and chinese vegetables and also fried rice and mee fenSadly the bad point is they only provide oranges as fruits. Overall it is a good place for us to have our porridge buffet there as it is quite valuable for the moneyu we pay…Read More

Whole family went there for my father birthday celebration. At first we just drive around looking for a nice place to eat . It is then we spotted this place. It was quite empty i think the location is not very easy to reach. You will need a car to reach there. When we reach we were greeted by the friendly staff and was given the menu to order food. We were served with salted peanuts and chinese tea. We order the chili malay kan kong, braised beancurb, yam paste ring, Coffee pork ribs, Sweet and sour chicken. We did not wait long for the food to be served . The portion was quite enough for the 5 of us. and they all taste very delicious especially the Coffee pork ribs which i can taste the coffee aroma and taste in my mouth. The yam paste ring was also very delicious crispy on the outside tender inside and on top of it covered with cashew nuts. mushroom, fresh prawns.highly recommend for those who drive to have your dinner there for special occasions .…Read More
