For the seafood lovers!
F.I.S.H

For the seafood lovers, you have to head to Fish&co for their seafood platters! Get all sort of seafood assortments in one whole platter to share among your friends! Here, I tried the Seafood Galore Platter at $22.95. This platter consists of two grilled King prawns, grilled White fish and Curry Butter Clams with chips and paella rice. The seafood are fresh and juicy and cooked just nice! Paella rice is fragrant with just enough spices! The chips are crispy. Recommended to share between two to three pax depending on your appetite! Service here is pretty good as the staff was attentive and take notes of special requests.…Read More

Good quality Chinese cuisine
Paradise Classic
2013-10-06
For those who wants authentic Chinese cuisine, Paradise Inn is where you want to go when at Somerset 313. With a wide variety of meat, seafood and vegetable choices, be sure to treat yourself to a wholesome meal. This time round, I tried the Crisp-Fried Crystal Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk. The prawns are fried just nice and topped generously with the salted egg yolk. It savory taste lingers on your tongue and you can taste the blend of prawn sweetness and saltiness of the egg yolk in harmony. The small portion with 6 prawns cost $16.90 and there's also a medium and large option. I also had the Berry Ice tea at $4.50. This is a very refreshing drink that is not too sweet. Recommended for group of friends to dine here so you can order more dishes to share and try. …Read More

Authentic Japanese Curry!
Coco Ichibanya
2013-10-06
Hail from Japan, the first CocoIchibanya outlet located here in Somerset 313 cannot be missed when you enter the food hall at B3. For Japanese curry lovers, this is a must try. What's better than being able to choose your own rice portions and curry spice level? I recommend choosing level 2, the Hot level to be able to taste the authentic curry with that extra excitement! For the more adventurous, go for level 4 which I personally love! And of cause, for those who cannot take spicy, there's always the mild option! So there is something for everybody, even the kids!…Read More

Better than the usual!
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen
2013-10-06
For the Fried Chicken lovers, Popeyes offers you an alternative from the usuals with their savory fried chicken in different forms. Here we have the Louisiana Pepper nuggets and the chicken tenders. I highly recommend these two from the usual chicken choice as they are boneless and easier to eat with lesser mess. The Pepper nuggets are slightly spicy for those who prefer spicy food. The portions are just nice to fill you up. Recommend the 6 piece combo at $5.90 that comes with a side, a biscuits and a drink. My favorite side is the mash potato which is one of the best I've tried. The sauce is not too salty which made is really good. The chicken tenders is like its name, tender and moist. It's quite huge so it's really filling. The 3 piece is going for $3.90. Looking for fast food? Go for Popeyes!…Read More

Authentic Japanese Taste at Fukuya
Fukuya Japanese Restaurant
2013-10-02
Fukuya is a relatively new Japanese Restaurant located at Jurong Country Club. It offers authentic Japanese cuisine with Airflown ingredients fresh from Japan thrice a week. Seafood Mayo salad is made up of ten different ingredients. It's flavorful but can be a little too overwhelming with the salty taste. This is $10.80.My favorite would be the Sashimi Platter with 7 kinds of sashimi. The freshness level is top notch and the sweetness of the fish stays in the mouth. The special Kunbu Shoyu which have a nice thick taste which is not too salty pairs up well with the sashimi and not overpowering the taste of the fish. This platter cost $68.80 which is worth every cent considering its Airflown fresh from Japan. Sushi Aburi style is something special as the sushi is seared to bring more flavors to the sushi. This is a chef special and not on the standard menu.  Dobin Mushi served here is slightly different from the usual offerings at other places as the broth here is brewed with fresh oysters. The soup is fragrant and sweet. This is $10.80. Gintara Mentaiyaki is a popular Japanese dish and they did it slightly different here with the addition of cheese in the mentai cream which adds to the rich flavors. The grilled cod fish is moist with juice. This is at $20.80. Seafood ramen here is offered in a fusion style with a western vegetable seafood broth. It's generous in the ingredients like scallops, salmon, octopus and many more! The taste is very light and you will not get tired halfway through the bowl. This is priced is $26.80 and recommended to be shared by two for its generous portion. The Kyoho Ice Cream with Boiled Chesnut is a unique blend of flavors. I would say it's more like a sorbet which is super smooth and rich in the flavor of the Kyoho grapes. Very refreshing end to a meal. Highly recommend Fukuya to all Japanese cuisine lovers!…Read More

Fresh Sashimi and Best Tamago ever tried!
Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant
2013-10-02
Went there once for lunch for their set meals and was pretty impressed by the freshness of the Sashimi. The Hotate is really sweet and melts in your mouth kind. It was that nice that I went back with a group of friends for dinner, and that is when I get to try the best Tamago Sushi I ever tried. The sweetness is just right, and it's soft and fluffy. Might seem a bit pricey at $3 for two but it's super worth it. Sashimi are fresh and really value for money for that kind of standard. You have to try for yourself as it's hard to describe. The Haru Chirashi set is super value for money at $28++, you get 5 different assortments of fresh, thick slices of sashimi along with warm sushi rice that is of good standard too. Service is a little meh at Mitsuba but I must say the food is worth dismissing the not up to par service standards. …Read More

Waraku Japanese Casual Dining
2013-10-02
I visit Waraku pretty often during Lunch time and they have pretty value for money lunch offers. Food wise, I would say it's value for money too. Sashimi is fresh, portions of the cooked food are generous too. Service wise is ok, the staff tend to get longer to get back to you during peak hours but it's acceptable. At least the waiting time for the food is pretty fast. …Read More
