Brunch @ Spruce
Spruce
2010-10-19
Yummy Yummy! The Breakfast set is so........................... Satisfying! Food: We had the Spruce British Brekkie & The Spruce Big Brekkie. You can choose to add a side when you order the Breakfast. We add on a Waffle ($5+/-) and a Cheesy Macaroni($5+/-) So cheap and You'll live to regret if you never tried their Cheesy Macaroni before!Service: Attentive staff helps to ensure your food is serve promtly and your plates are cleared mess-free. Giving suggestions on what dish to try..for a 1st timer...Environment: Well.. we had a tough time locating this place, a few wrong turns+ winding down window to ask the passer-bys.. finally leads us to the correct address. Call to reserve your seats a few days in advance to avoid a crowd of hungry people Q-ing ahead of you. (They do not take reservation on the day itself.) Price: Expensive for a ''breakfast'', but definately worth a try!…Read More

New place for me to chill~
Lantern
2010-10-04
Whoowoot! A great place to add into my chill out list. Its the Lantern @ The Fullerton Bay Hotel.Thou the service staff might not be attentive enuff, I'll still definitely drop by again to relax with a wine or beer!Food: Fish & Chips~ I absolutely love these light and crispy filet pieces thou a tad too oily. The fries that serve alongside the fishes was Awesome! Guess what? Its the truffle fries that I saw earlier in the menu. (A scene before I placed my orders) Curious about the name in the menu- Truffle Fries @ $14. Thinking..it must be something special or rather..with choc or ice cream?? Guess what the server told me? Hi mdm, its jus the normal fried fries. So I tot, well then, thats boring..Service: Hard to catch the attention of all the 'blur sotongs' pacing up and down.. wonder whats on their mind that they cant see my hand stretching to the max and waving like a siao cha bo! LOL!Environment: Lantern is situated on the rooftop of Furllerton Bay Hotel, next to the swimming pool of the hotel, Scenic... Breath taking... Breezy... Best to go in the late evening.Price: What would you say .. $14 for a big bowl of fries?..opps.. i mean Truffle fries..…Read More

You can find Local favorites dish in the Asian or Western delights menu. Food: Fish & Chips~ Considered a big portion for a lady, at least 4 piece of battered fish and generous portion of fries.Bak Kut Teh~ Tenderlicious pork rib in claypot accompanied with you tiao and a bowl of rice. (refills of hot soup available upon request)Porridge Set Meal~ A fullfilling meal with 5 side dishes and a hot, warmy porridge.花雕米粉 Hua diao Meehoon~ Warm Fuzzy feeling of home cooked meehoon. Try it and you'll know.Hainanese Chix Rice~ 白斩鸡 on a bed of Bean Sprouts with a bowl of soup and rice. Nice thick black soy sauce!Cod Fish~ Sweet! Smooth! Sedap!Desserts~Choose from Asian or Western style.Service: Expect the finest service you'll expect in a Atas restaurant!Environment: Classy, Cozy and Serenity with beautiful vocalist playing piano in the bar next to Dolly Kitchen.Price: I'll say.. Cheap & good! We sure don't mind paying a few dollars more to enjoy Bak Kut Teh in such a classy environment compare to eating in a hot, noisy kopitiam.…Read More

Firestation Hillside Gastrobar
2010-10-04
Food: THin Crust Smoked Duck Pizza Ala Fire Station is indeed delicious! Plus point is the truffle mayo , so addictive.Pasta- Carbonara, Not so fantastic. There's a strange taste/smell that turns me off.Service:Too eager to clear plates, they came so often that really piss me off! Cant they see that my plate is not empty! Are they hoping for us to leave SOON! Environment: Nice colonial style building.. however..,covered yourself with loads of Mosquito repellant spray before you get off the car.Priceverpriced for the overall dining experience. Definately not worth it.Will I go again? Nope, thou its near to my house and I'll miss the truffle mayo on the smoked duck pizza.…Read More

Cosy Hangout place.. Hidden!
Picotin
2010-10-04
Love @ first sight! ...with... Picotin~ Bistro & Bar .Bring along a friend who drives as this outlet is tucked deep in Turf club road.Service: Thumbs UP! ITs so ''homey'' to hangout here...the people are so friendly and sociable and that includes the patrons of Picotin. Food: Thumbs UP! Love the Thin Crust Pizza served here.. The flavour I tried was Falabella with additional top up of mushroom @ $2.50. The Pizza here comes with 9'' , 12'' , 21'', It can either be thin crust or calzone.Price: Cheaper then Firestation Hillside GastrobarEnvironment: Thumbs UP!Scenic, Peaceful, Relaxing, Enjoyable. A great place to grab a beer after work!Tuesday Movie Nights-Relax with a drink, pizza, and homemade popcorn while watching some old/new 'classic' movie on Picotin Big screen! Reserve a movie table in advance to avoid disappointment!A sad note: Thou they do delivery, but that does not include where I stay.Check this page to see if you're lucky enuff to be in the Delivery Zone.. http://www.picotin.com.sg/delivery.html…Read More

Ju Shin Jung Traditional Korean food
Ju Shin Jung
2010-09-27
If you're lazy to do the cooking, go to Ju Shin Jung. They'll BBQ your order right in front of you.. Be it meat or seafood! A traditional Korean BBQ always come along with many many side dishes, but only at Ju Shin Jung, all side dishes taste Awesome! What I like best is the is the free flow of fresh healthy veg for you to wrap up the 'sinful' colesterol..The most challenging part of the meal about Korean food = flat stainless steel chopsticks! (*giggles) Fret not here, wooden chopsticks are given when requested.Environment wise: They need to work on the ventilation! We would'nt wanna walk out and smell like the bulgogi again!Price: Consider average for a Korea Restaurant. About $40 per pax, for meat, seafood + soup.…Read More

Get up Early or You're gonna miss this Bak Kut Teh! Thou they are open till 3pm, sometimes when we reach the place around 1+, most of the items are sold out.Food: The bak kut teh serve here are more towards the peppery taste. Meat is tender and juicy! A wide variety of side dishes to choose from.Try the Kung Fu Tea- Xiao Yue Gan, the after taste is so addictive. I even bought 2 more packets so that I can prepare this tea at home too.Environment: Busy staffs buzzing up and down .I also spotted quite a number of tourist who likes to frequent this shop thou its quite ulu..Its hard to spot vacant tables, once customer finish and leave, the host will bring in a new group of customers.Oh!
