Han's
Han's
2013-01-24
Han's cafe is just beside Buona Vista CC and it located at the corner which it's behind is a bus terminal. It is just a few mins walk from my house Blk10 Holland Ave.I like Han's as it is a cozy place to have dinner for me. The small fans and air-cond inside make the environment quite comfortable. I like to have calm and peaceful place just like here especially when having dinner #Menu of Han'sLooks plain but yet still be a pleasure to the eye #The food orderedSpaghetti with Ham (Tomato sauce)Cost $9.80 (Ala-carte) ; $12.80(Set Meal)The sauce surround the spaghetti is tasty. But it was slightly too sour.Yet, I like it and I could big mouth big mouth and ate. Black pepper chicken chopCost $11.80 (Set Meal)The chicken taste not bad and the gravy is delicious.I like the healthy vegetables which is broccoli and baby carrots which they served with this dish so that the plating looks good and won't feel too oily.As me and my uncle ordered as Set Meals, therefore our main dish come with the soup, and drinks+dessert. The mushroom soup is delicious but a little spicy taste as too much black pepper I wonder. I believe it could be improved by put less black pepper? As the black pepper will also cover all the mushroom taste if too much. Cheers We get the dessert of the day(Thursday) is peach. Peach is my favourite fruit! I am lucky. Different day have different dessert I guess. May try on another day then. Thanks to my uncle for the treat! Han's food is not very expensive as you could get just around $10 for a set meal. For ala-carte, there is also Hor fun and rice just cost around $8.And most important is we save the service charge at here as we serve ourself. But the self service is very easy, as we only queue up for order, pay money, take drinks, take spoon and folks then sit down and wait for the food. At the end they served the food to our table. They served food for us but only charge the gov tax (7%) in overall bill. Good right? Never try the food here before? Let's go and try. Why not. >_<…Read More

For me, Tom Yam soup is a must order when I having Thai cuisine. The taste of spicy and sour really "open" my appetite. Normally there are chicken, fish,or seafood tom yam soup. For me, I like seafood tom yam soup as I could eat different kind of seafood like fish, prawns and squids. For 2 pax is $8I like this fried fish because they fried until the skin is so crunchy. There is a "sauce" served with the fish. Dip the fish into the sauce before eat. The taste of the sauce is a little bit spicy and sweet. For 2 pax is $10Fried sotong. A little bit hard to chew but yet it is nice For 2 pax is $8fried Kailan with beef. Delicious as it is not too salty. The Kailan nad beef also easy chew as they cook just nice for chewing For 2 pax is $6Overall, I like the food. The environment also peaceful as I went for dinner. …Read More

For the chicken grilled, there are melted cheese and tomato sauce on top.And the gravy sauce taste delicious! >.<But only the chicken, taste a little bit too strong taste of chicken.Hopefully this could be improved. The corn is sweet enough and taste nice! More fries to be added will be great! haha Overall, I like the environment because it was on the second floor which outside is peaceful and comfortable ; service is good and there is a calling button on every table for customer to press for service calling. pump it up in the pump room
The Pump Room @ Clarke Quay
2012-12-28
After I went to Wings Bar, I came to 'the pump room' for another drinks! I ordered Corona Extra which is a common and best selling beers in Mexico. Commonly, people will insert a small slice of lime or lemon to add on the flavor.$14While my friend has ordered an Australia Cider. But we don't really like the taste of this.$14So total was about $33 for both of the drinks.I like the environment inside, I love the stage, love the band.I love the songs that the band sing! There is a little space for us to dance just in front of the stage. Perfect for those who not really like clubbing but like to dance with the band's music. But the drinks is a little bit cost expensive …Read More

wa...wa...WATAMI
Watami Japanese Dining
2012-12-18
This was my first time again My friend came from Malaysia, she like to eat Watami's beef. So, she bring me to this restaurant. Thanks to my friend treat the meal.We ordered a delux set for 2 pax. It is around $65.Plus service charge and tax = around $76The set include:-salad which egg on top- beef and vege steamboat-Mee which eat with the steamboat soup-sashimi such as scallop, fresh prawns, salmon.-fried prawns-beef rice with egg on top-small musselsOverall, I like the food but unfortunately, we couldn't finish the food as it was too much for 2 of us.Well, if for girls who are not really a big stomach, I could suggest that you go 3 person for this (2 pax delux set) Food comment:1. For those who not really like the taste of egg yolk, when you eat this salad and beef rice, remember to tell them not to serve the egg or you could take off the egg yolk before you mix the egg white together. 2. The beef on with the beef rice is sweet taste. I prefer it would be salty instead of sweet taste 3. The sashimi prawns and scallop are quite fresh and the small mussels is fresh too. I like it so muchHow to get to star vista:Nearest mrt : Buona Vista (green line)SBS Bus: 74,91,92,95,191,196,198,200Follow the sign written star vista. It is just beside the mrt track.…Read More

let's try this!
Ootoya Japanese Restaurant
2012-12-14
Normal day, when I end work, the first thing come on my mind is :"what to makan(eat) for dinner huh?" hmmm...:maD:Well, yesterday, I jio(ask) my uncle out for dinner @ clementi mall together after work We found there is a japanese restaurant which both of us never try before.Restaurant name: Ootoya JapaneseFor your info:The Beer OR Dessert is 1 for 1 during weekdays. The 1 for 1 dessert can be choose different favourites. And the most expensive price will be the FREE one! good right?! haha There are 2 common choices for the main course :1. Alacarte 2. SetFor the set meal includes rice , miso soup and main dish.Meanwhile, for the rice, cabbage vege, and soup are all FREE to refill. So you can eat as much as you can, until you looks like a pregnant! HAHA Of course, the set's cost will be slightly higher which is (alacarte price) + $3 to $5.For examples of what we had ordered.1. Buta Shio Koji Jyu which is Grilled pork loin with Shio-Koji Sauce. It is rice with grilled Sangen Pork marinated with Shio-Koji Sauce serve with potato salad(mashed potato) and vegetables in the Japanese style.FYI : Shio-Koji Sauce is traditional Japanese seosoning which made from rice malt, salt and water.Set : $23.50alacarte: $20.50The pork taste a little bit salty which is nice but the meat slightly hard to chew. Hopefully can be improved later 2. Hokke (Charcoal grilled atka mackerel) It is a grilled of a kind of fish serve with white carrots slices and seaweed. Set : $19.50alacarte: $14.50The fish come with salty taste. It is just nice for me Most important is the fish is fresh enough. I like it! And I like the fish because it is less small bones and the bones is obviously see just half of the fish body which they already cut before they are being serve.Mean we will only eat the half body of the fish for a meal. Before end, we ordered the 1 for 1 desserts as mentioned above 1. Warabimochi which is jelly balls(mochi) with sweet soybean flour. ($7.00)2. Kokuto Pafe which is egg castella cake parfait with brown sugar and whipped cream. ($7.00)There is raspberry and bean on top and banana in the middle of the cream. While for drinks:Green tea is the best choice for me when I having Japanese meals. The green tea here is $1.00 for 1 cup if not mistaken and it can be refill for FREE!Overall, I am satisfy with the meal Good service! Tidy table I could suggest that if the floor of the restaurant could upgrade may look more better for the overall scene.…Read More

Sweet 12.12.12 by dessert
Dessert Story
2012-12-13
I end my day 12.12.12 by having desserts with my friends. Sweet it up! Desserts can be have either cold or hot dessert. So,normally greedy people like me will order both hot and cold desserts! haha We ordered strawberry snow ice and also hot desserts which are peanut paste and cheng teng.Normally, I don't like to eat ice or even ice cream eventhough i am a girl >__<But this dessert story snow ice was totally different compare with the ice kacang I normally eat. This snow ice is soft, tasty, sweet and easy melted in the mouth! For those who not sure what Cheng Teng is:Cheng Teng is a common dessert which could be found at many stalls.Cheng Teng's ingredients include lotus seeds, red dates, white fungus, dried longan and etc which you may add on by yourself if you try to cook at home! The picture below showing the desserts we had ordered Hope you like it!…Read More

Woke up morning, work, rush job and end work. But thanks that at least I am not alone for the dinner on that day We meet up at Choa chu kang mrt station and went to the mall food junction.Food junction(food court) is a good choice when you have no idea what to eat at the moment.Because food court have lots and different cuisine like korean, japanese, chinese, indian and etc. When we walk around to look up for the food, suddenly we saw there is a set menu at Yoshinoya stall. The set of $5.00 meal include:1. pick your bowl set:-either beef/ teriyaki chicken/ salmon/etc.2.pick your rice:white Japanese rice = freeothers rice = + $0.503.pick your soupMe and my friend was ordered Teriyaki chicken and salmon set bowl.:bowl:The teriyaki sauce is just nice. My friend was introduced me to this restaurant as he never try but only saw this restaurant by surfing internet.Well, when I was there, there are 2 big green rubbish bin just outside the door.I was thinking why they not put at side or shift to somewhere else? Okay then, I walked in with my friend, the inside environment looks quite dark, it is somehow like a romantic place which first came to my mind.Well, for food there are some choices like salad, burger, pizza and pasta. While for drinks: there are mocktails(non-alcoholic),beer and cocktail(alcoholic). For your info,on Thursday, there is 50% for the second burgers order. The front page of the menu looks:And my friend was ordered a cocktail drink (Mojito) $18 for 1.Well, short words to describe the day:I dislike the place as the first impression was not good enough.1. The first person service us never mentioned that there is happy hour for 1-1 alcohol drinks, until we ordered other alcohol drinks and another person served us and tell us the regarding happy hour.2. The food is served slow!3. The food, price slightly expensive, sorry to say so, but taste only OK!Below show the food i ordered, (The vault wagyu burger) $20 for 14. The bill also served slow.Well, I can only say this place is nice to have a drinks and just sit for relax as i stated above that the environment inside is dark and romantic and some artistic photos on the wall. So, at the end we ordered a tequila mix with oranges juice ($28 for 2 tequila while orange juice $4 for 2).Overall, I am just disappointed for the dinner Sorry to say so. It is just a feeling but not a complaint.…Read More

Do you ever know Soup + BREAD
espresSOUP
2012-12-06
This was my first try on this special restaurant which I never heard before. At first I was wondering how could be the soup fill in the bread when I am looking at the menu Are you wondering too?? So, without thinking too much, I just ordered a Mogu Mogu soup to try the taste. It is a chunky soup with an array of mushrooms. For your info, "Mogu" is read in chinese which mean is mushroom. You can ordered only the soup or choose to have the BREAD! But if with the bread, the price will be a little bit more to pay.For example, for this Mogu mogu soup which I ordered, if ONLY soup, is $7.80while soup+bread is $10.30.The bread yes, a little bit strong/firm because it act like a wall to protect the soup from being flow out.Yet, no worry, you may drink the soup first and slowly cut the bread and eat by dipping it into the soup.Of course for those who are not mushroom lovers, there are still many choices favour of taste like seafood, tomato and etc. (go have a try) If you are first time, I could suggest that you may try with the bread. …Read More
