Something must have gone wrong with me that day to order something that is not fish and chips in their menu. Haha.I have absolutely no idea why they would include dishes that they cannot make it delicious into the menu. The previous time I went to Ichiban Sushi, to be honest, I don't quite like the udon set. Imagine eating both rice and cold noodles in the same set but the side dishes are not even enough.However, I am totally in love with it's "Tori Maru Cheese Wazen". The cheese over the fried chicken rice is absolutely heavenly! With a chawanmushi, and miso soup, it's complete. I am a cheese lover so whatever food with cheese, I would love it to core. Did I even need to mention the awesome taste of Tom Yum and handmade noodles combination? Anyone who loves the savory tastes of food should absolutely try this dish! Well, provided that you are able to take the spiciness. I can't stop eating this store's Tom Yum Ramen whenever I am at Coffee Express in Bras Basah Complex. Tasty and worth the money.Even though it is the famous spicy and sour Tom Yum soup, I would say it is more of the spicy side than the sour taste. As my school is around Bugis area, whenever I pass by Gelateria Venezia ice-cream store, I can't help but to find it really cute with it's simple and sweet exterior of the store.The whole row of ice-cream in their tubs just looks so delicious and pretty that you can't help but to keep looking. Small tables and chairs placed around the store are also a very cute concept of "street vendor" in the shopping centre itself.I especially love the chocolate flavors in this store, not too sweet but still very flavory! …查看更多

My first try of Gong Cha!My friend bought a cup of Earl Grey Milk tea and I totally fall in love with it instantly. The smooth texture of the milk and the aroma of earl grey are absolutely lovely.Some might compare Gong Cha with KOI but I would probably think that these two stalls are different even though both have similarly expensive drinks. I like the way Gong Cha actually offers more variety and types of drinks as compared to KOI while I like the latter for giving the buyers a choice of sugar level.…查看更多

The most awesome chicken rice set in the district, cheap and delicious. Yummy chicken rice has been Singaporeans' best food choice, especially for commoners like me who cannot afford to go to restaurants most of the times. What's so special about this chicken rice set is: $4.50 for chicken rice, soup and a side dish of your choice (vegetables; tofu and etc.). So, I was at a blogger event #tnbb (more information on LoveLivfe.com) last Saturday at Standing Sushi Bar and I am glad that I found this place.It was amazing. The atmosphere is really soothing and the decorations really make me feel like I am at home relaxing. Moreover, the food looks great too!I am not a big fan of raw food so I didn't really get to enjoy the sashimi there even though it was very much recommended by others. When my friends told me that there's an Astons restaurant, I was actually quite surprised but when I saw where it is located at, all mysteries are solved.Located at the basement of Suntec City where very few people will walk by, even the famous Astons will be submerged in the gloominess of the basement, just like New York New York. Well, I am not sure whether Astons there is being not as popular as the other outlets is because of its location or its service.One of my friend ordered Sirloin steak medium but it turned out as medium rare. The worse part? We told the waitress and in the end we got back a re-cooked steak which was already cut. I find it quite amazing that service at Astons became like this, or maybe it is just this outlet. As much as I dislike the service, the standard of the food is still quite good. When we think of celebrating birthdays, there is ALWAYS a cake to cut!The problem now is, which cake to choose from? Well, a lot of people are chocolate lovers... so it was not such a big hassle to choose the flavor except that if you do not want the plain chocolate only, the choice of other flavors to match the former is crucial.I am not a big fan of mixtures in food/drinks because I think it loses the originality of the food so maybe that is why I prefer the plain Chocolate rather than the Chocolate Banana cake from Awfully Chocolate.Nevertheless, Awfully Chocolate's chocolate cakes are still as awesome! …查看更多

At first when I saw the catering service's name is called "Mum's Kitchen", I was already anticipating the quality of food and the touch of Mum's cooking (it's not that I want someone who cooks like my mom because she doesn't really cook much, but I refer to the essences of homemade cooking that makes food a little bit more humane).The food definitely is good even though some dishes were not to my liking. Recently, I and my cousins went to the fairly well-known "Strictly Pancakes" after hearing many reviews from different people! Opened daily with ample supply of pancakes for the pancake lovers like us, not only the pancakes are delicious, the atmosphere of the whole environment is so cosy and relaxing for gathering/meet-ups with friends.Even though the price might be a little too steep for normal pancakes, I think the environment has increase the value fairly too. We ordered a custom made pancakes with rum & raisin butter and maple syrup (of course) and another plate of Garlic Leeking Mushrooms (thick pancakes that are filled with leeks in it) with garlic butter and maple syrup. And of course, 2 plates of pancakes were not even enough to fill 3 stomachs so we ordered another custom pancakes with bacon & mushrooms. Oh, did I mention that I extremely love the garlic butter?As a savory person, I prefer more salty or spicy food rather than sweet. However, I really like the pancakes there with the normal rum & raisin butter and maple syrup too. Thank you OpenRice for ORTU to Borgata, I enjoyed the meal. For those who do not know, Borgata is a very homely Italian restaurant located at the stretch of Clarke Quay's bars and clubs along River Valley Road. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant to be so homely in such rowdy environment. The interior is sweetly decorated and the staff are friendly.The different pastas and pizzas that were served to us were awesome and I especially love the latter! Psst, I have a fetish on thin-crust pizza so if you like thin-crust too, go try their pizzas! However, I think the most special thing about this particular restaurant is they take special orders and make an unique pasta/pizza right for you! Ain't it cool? Not many places offer this skill and I really felt very important when I saw the specially made dishes for us OpenRicers. By the way, I love their desserts: molten chocolate cake and tiramisu. THE TIRAMISU IS ESPECIALLY QUIRKY! It was the most cool tiramisu that I ever tasted, with a tad of orange taste and crunchy nuts that added to the layer of taste. I admit, the setting of this restaurant is really attractive and I can't help but to think that the interior designer of this store is really smart to make a open-view of the restaurant while people are walking up and down of the escalator near it and to and forth outside. Every time I pass by, I said to myself that I have to go try their food someday! It is really tempting.However, after trying... I don't think I would make a visit there again.2 Reasons of not going to this restaurant again: Weird service:I have no idea how they trained their waiters/waitresses. When I went there with my boyfriend at dinner time (around 7pm), there were still a few empty tables of six and the waitress that was serving us told us to sit with another pair of customers just because "it is dinner time so...." We were closely packed between two pairs of customers with a very narrow space to walk through. Even though their service is readily available, the waitresses seem to be quite blur and do not get the situation well. Boyfriend made a quirky request to have some sugar because he does not drink the plain ocha... unless it is sweet. The manager who happened to take the request looked shocked and puzzled (as if there's no sugar in the kitchen -.-) and the waitress took our sugar to other tables. It was totally not that kind of service that I expected. For customer service to be like this made me felt unimportant and not respected as a customer. I am fairly reluctant to pay for service charge, especially after they mistook our request as other table's. Food is not as nice as I expectedOrdered the Curry Cheese ramen set with gyoza (main course + side dish + hot/cold ocha) @ S$15.90 (without GST and service charge) and he ordered Spicy ______ ramen set with fried chicken pieces.I almost fainted when I tasted the gyoza. There's ginger in the meat filling instead of the usual vegetables, ALL meat and ginger, how nice can it be to someone like me who do not like to eat ginger?Limited choices of ramen and their ramen is only so-so too. Recently, I had a meet up with an old friend at Northpoint for dinner. Due to the lack of money, the most "expensive" good food we could eat is at the food court at basement 2. To my surprise, I thought Ming Fa Noodles were a new food stall because I don't even remember it was there! Nevertheless, its promotion of its ba chor mee set appeals to me. Heehee. Around $6 for a set meal of Ba Chor Mee + Soup + Ngyo Hiang, quite a good deal I would say for a meal at shopping centre. Not exactly those kind of delicate dishes, but something that you can eat comfortably without caring about dining etiquette with a full stomach at the end of the meal.
