My favourite 'Chee Cheong Fun' stall in Singapore.I was very depressed when I couldn't find it a while back. I thought they had closed down or moved to somewhere unknown, but I received a comment on my old food blog entry about it's new location, which is just a few shops down the road - from 75 to 89 Killiney Road.A MUST in every visit.I mentioned in that old entry years ago that I did not dare try their signature 'Durian Chee Cheong Fun'. I finally did one day, and it was the road to no regrets.Every time I recommend this dish to my fellow peers, they will raise their eyebrows and look at me like I was retarded or something. But once they've tried it, all of them would be utterly convinced.The thick chilled Durian meat went perfectly well with the soft rice flour skin and a dash of peanuts and sugar. Visited the The Central branch because the one at ION is always packed.Food here was of the same great quality, with the same good prices.I wouldn't have expected much of their sashimi but this was good!The star of the day is this 'Special Set' that I wanna highlight. Some say this is the best, some say it is overrated, and I'm more of a believer of the latter because so far no ramen has beaten my Ichibantei yet, well, at least to me.Having very low expectations, I dug in, and boy, was I surprised.I actually liked the noodles (the thin ramen kind), the Char Siu, the Ajituke Tamago (soy eggs). The broth was okay.Marutama is now my second favourite ramen place, and it has the potential of winning my heart (and stomach) over soon. But I don't know.
