Hearty
Hard Rock Cafe Changi Airport Singapore
2014-06-01
An American classic diner where food portions are so huge (for us Asians) that we can totally devour them in fat kid style.Hickory BBQ Bacon CheeseburgerThick full beef burger with homemade Hickory BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, crisp seasoned bacon and melted Cheddar cheese. It’s a yummy mess.{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with pictures}…Read More

The Bravery Cafe
2014-06-01
A true hipster cafe with no proper signage, door, nor renovation – just some cellophane looking plastics to act as walls; I’m surprised how they got discovered in the first place, but that’s how hipster places function. Lavender Latte Of all the flavoured coffees, this ‘Lavender Latte’ hit the jackpot. It leaves you picturing yourself wandering in a lavender field, and it didn’t taste syrupy at all.{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with pictures}…Read More

Aoki Restaurant

{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with pictures}A fine-dining Japanese restaurant by the Les Amis Group whose Chirashi Don is highly raved.MazechirashiThis is the star of the meal. Be sure to order this earlier as there are limited bowls per day. It was indeed worth the rave – juicy fatty diced up chunks of sashimi (including sea urchin and my favourite swordfish) with lots of other ingredients like their sweet tamago. HEAVEN.…Read More

That Coffee Place
2014-04-19
{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with pictures}Nope, this isn’t some coffee specialty cafe. To put in more literal terms, it means ‘coffeeshop,’ but in an independent air-conditioned environment. They sell day-to-day food from kaya toast sets (with local coffee); to chicken rice, wanton mee, nasi lemak; to tze char. Makes a good fuss-free eating place for families residing in Sengkang / North-East area.…Read More

Lolla
2014-04-19
{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with pictures}Lolla is an atas, quaint, and pretty restaurant at Ann Siang area.Sea Urchin PuddingHighly recommended, mind blowing. The delicious black pudding at the bottom was made up of squid ink, egg yolk, cream, tomato paste then topped with fresh creamy sea urchin. The full portion ($36) will give you double the amount of sea urchin. This first dish quickly raised our expectations for the rest of the food.…Read More

The Royal Mail
2014-04-19
{Visit lazyfoodies.com for a full review with photos}Though Singapore was once British ruled, we have hardly heard or speak of British cuisine here. The Royal Mail is one of the rare restaurants that serves up unique modern British cuisine with an emphasis on roasts and prime rib. Housed within Ascott in the busiest business district, an after-work dinner there was surprisingly a relaxed one.…Read More

Durian Dessert with a Twist!
House of Rice Roll & Porridge
2011-06-24
My favourite 'Chee Cheong Fun' stall in Singapore.I was very depressed when I couldn't find it a while back. I thought they had closed down or moved to somewhere unknown, but I received a comment on my old food blog entry about it's new location, which is just a few shops down the road - from 75 to 89 Killiney Road.A MUST in every visit.I mentioned in that old entry years ago that I did not dare try their signature 'Durian Chee Cheong Fun'. I finally did one day, and it was the road to no regrets.Every time I recommend this dish to my fellow peers, they will raise their eyebrows and look at me like I was retarded or something. But once they've tried it, all of them would be utterly convinced. The thick chilled Durian meat went perfectly well with the soft rice flour skin and a dash of peanuts and sugar. It's a very aberrant kind of sensation and the closest I can relate it to is cold Durian 'mochi' with very thin skin. Heavenly.…Read More

Damn Good Prices!
Watami Japanese Dining
2011-05-25
Visited the The Central branch because the one at ION is always packed.Food here was of the same great quality, with the same good prices.I wouldn't have expected much of their sashimi but this was good! The star of the day is this 'Special Set' that I wanna highlight. For only $55++, you get a hugeass bowl of salad, crispy fried chicken with spicy sauce, Agadeshi Tofu, one main dish, one hotpot, a bowl of udon / rice, pork katsu with scrambled egg sauce, Mentai Potato Pizza, and a drink. Basically it's everything that you see for the rest of this post!Don't be taken in when it's stated as 'for 2'. The portions were so huge I think it could even feed up to 4!…Read More

Marutamaa
Marutama Ra-Men
2011-05-25
Some say this is the best, some say it is overrated, and I'm more of a believer of the latter because so far no ramen has beaten my Ichibantei yet, well, at least to me.Having very low expectations, I dug in, and boy, was I surprised.I actually liked the noodles (the thin ramen kind), the Char Siu, the Ajituke Tamago (soy eggs). The broth was okay.Marutama is now my second favourite ramen place, and it has the potential of winning my heart (and stomach) over soon. But I don't know. I was too hungry that day when I tried it, so probably I'll go back for a second visit for a better judgment!…Read More
