I was really hungry one of the late nights and decided to walk over to Sizzling Woks at Uncle Louis Café 899. Anyway I have yet to try the Zi Char and was told of how good how awesome their food is. Anyway they are once interviewed by the media hence should not be that bad rightt?Boy was I wrong. I order a plate of Kang Kong Cuttlefish as they have super limited menu. They do not really serve light bites such as Prawn Roll, Fried You Tiao or small portion of appetisers. They serve a lot of seafood and more seafood. Their vegetables and toufu and soup is only limited by a few choices. The cuttlefish is indeed big pieces which can be bitten off easily but its bland. The whole plate is sprinkled with peanut crush which totally spoil the dish. The Kangkong is overcooked which is soggy and too saltish. Nothing near to what I have in East Coast Hawker which is only $4. Maybe it is because it is really late in the night about 10pm plus hence the lack of freshnessOr maybe they are famous for their expensive seafood and not their other dishes. Collage of the Platter Sausages which consist of Chicken and Pork Sausage with Mustard Sauce as dipping. The greens are sprinkled with a light refreshing sauce which gives the greens a slight crunch. A mixture of sour and sweet taste. This is "Mad About Chocolate" It really describes the cake very aptly. The cake is very moist with rich think chocolate taste. However finishing the cake is a wee bit difficult as it is too overwhelmed with chocolate. The High Tea Set consist of a Drink (coffee or tea or lemon tea) the lemon tea is specially mixed by the bistro as well; a dessert (Made About Chocolate or Warm Chocolate Brownie or Homemade Cheesecake) It is very worth it as we can sit back relax at the sofa while enjoying desserts with sips of drinks. Especially so when its located within town area. The Warm Chocolate Brownie is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The duo really is heaven. The brownie is chocked full of nuts, not too dry and sweet. The taste is just nice with the cold ice cream. Neither the ice cream nor brownie overtakes each other when you have a mouthful of each. The Café Mocha is a wee bit bitter and not very consistent. I was first served with a lukewarm Mocha when the creamer just became bits and pieces floating in the cup. It tastes really awful. I asked for a change and was served with a frothy Mocha which is alright. Nothing to complain about but nothing too fanciful too. If you are looking for a reasonable place to rest your legs after your shopping without burning a hole in your pocket, A.venue is the place you are looking at. Visited Pu Tien Marina Square twice and both visits are awesome The resturant is clean and quiet coupled with efficient attentive service.Their speciality buns have never failed to impress my guests.Its crispy sweet on the outside but fluffy soft inside. The sessam seeds added on a tangling aroma to the bun. The fillings are tender soft and fragnant. If not known, I would not even have guessed its pork. Thumbs Up!Another must have is the garlic cockles.Its fully cooked and fresh.The gravy is a mixture of a bit sweet, spicy and sour.The Pork Floss Brinja is another not to be missed.Its crispy on the outside but tender soft and juicy inside.Overall, the dishes served at Pu Tien is great except for their vegatables and toufu.…Read More
