A sinful, creamy and delicious appetizer perfect for Christmas and New Year gathers. Things to dip with: roasted vegetables, whole wheat bread, graham crackers or anything that you'd like to eat it with!
Ingredient and Portion
1 clove garlic, peeled
1 lb. Gruyere cheese, shredded (or 1/2 lb Gruyere + 1/2 lb Emmental cheese)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cup dry white wine
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Method
1. Toss shredded cheeses with flour.
2. Rub peeled garlic over preheated pan, remove garlic and add wine. Bring to simmer.
3. Add cheese mixture.
4. Stir in grated nutmeg.
5. Continue to stir over low heat until cheese is smooth and bubbling
6. Transfer cheese to a fondue pot and serve with roasted vegetables (or anything that you can think of to eat with!)
