This Punjabi yogurt drink is popular in India and Pakistan, where yogurt is blended with water, ice and a flavouring ingredient. Traditionally this might be salt, turmeric or even roasted cumin seeds. However this is a refreshing twist with tomato juice, which adds a sweet tinge to the sour yogurt. Great for the hot weather in Singapore!
½ cup of ice-cold water 4 tbsp tomato juice 4 tbsp natural plain yogurt A large pinch of salt
Method
1. Blend everything together in a blender. 2. Fill a narrow and tall glass with crushed ice, and then pour the mixture in. 3. You can consider adding toppings such as orange zest, shredded mint or celery salt. 4. Serve while the drink is ice-cold!
