Whenever I pass by Takashimaya level 2 for 1 reason or another, I would always see a queue at this Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge. It looks quite classy & expensive, & I never dared to step in. Whenever I pass by Takashimaya level 2 for 1 reason or another, I would always see a queue at this Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge. It looks quite classy & expensive, & I never dared to step in. That is, until the last Sat of October.

The tea lounge is tastefully furnished with fine teaware & furniture. We were lucky that one of us reached just before the queue formed & was thus able to grab a table for 3 without waiting for long hehe.

We ordered the Royal Deluxe Tea Set for two and an additional pot of Earl Grey Tea as there were 3 of us. Here's what the set comprised of:

- 2 mini Open Face House sandwiches
- 2 pieces of Homemade Scones
- 2 slice of cakes (showcase selection)
- 2 slices of Homemade Baked Quiches
- Cup of Coffee or Tea (for 2 persons)

Please do not expect the tea to be some exotic tea breed, it's jus normal tea, and you add your own milk & sugar according to personal preference. The additional pot of tea which we ordered, costs $6.90++, which was quite reasonable, but too bad no refill was allowed.

The 2 mini open face house sandwiches are supposed to be Danish traditional delicacies, and there is only a small bit of bread at the bottom, below the "stack" of prawns & tuna. It tasted somewhat "raw" to us and we weren't used to such taste.

Everything else in the set was fantastic hehe. The homemade baked Quiche was delicious! The 2 slices of cakes we picked - Almond Meringue & Chocolate Royale, were fluffy & nice too. I only took a small bite of the chocolate cake as 1 of my friends only wanted to eat this and drink her earl grey tea. Not too bad, but I find the Almond Meringue cake even better, really fluffy & yummy!

Last but not least, our fresh-from-the-oven homemade scones came (served with butter, whipped cream & jam). It was really nice, even the jam had big berries in it

We were really full at the end of the tea session. This tea lounge is good for a lazy afternoon of tea session with a bunch of girlfriends, perhaps after shopping hehe. But we guess a beta time to visit this lounge would be on weekday afternoons instead. We went on a Saturday & it was so noisy as everyone was busy chatting away! After we left the lounge, I could feel a bit of sore in my throat already, must be due to the fact that I tried to talk louder for my friends to hear me amidst the noise......

So, do pick the right time to be there, so that u can make yr $ worth
