It did strike me weird that the gf and I were the only 2 customers during lunch hour on a Sunday in a restaurant along Orchard Road, but nonetheless we went about the exploration with gusto rivaling that of Christopher Columbus.
I ordered the recommended signature dish of Duck Confit Spaghetti with Sun dried Tomatoes and Coriander plus an additional side of Potato Munchkins, baked potato skins served with meat sauce, melted cheese and cheddar.
Both dishes arrived piping hot and smelling good, but that's probably around where all the compliments stop. My pasta was more mush than al dente, the duck not like any confit that I had tasted before and gave me instead strong vibes of roast duck meat from Chinese roast meat stalls. The ratio of ingredients was also appalling - there was nearly as much tomato strips as there was pasta!
If I thought to wash down the meal with some hearty potato skins, I thought wrong too. The meat sauce overpowered any other taste of the dish and it just reminded me of curry.
Just this one experience is enough for me to say Delicious Cafe is anything but..
