We headed to Gelataria Venezia for dessert after a hohum dinner at Crystal Jade Cafe. We headed to Gelataria Venezia for dessert after a hohum dinner at Crystal Jade Cafe. The girls at this dessert cafe will obligingly provide generous teaspoonfuls of gelato of different flavours for passers by to try before deciding whether to buy ; I always succumb although there is no pressure or obligation to buy. Italian gelatos are creamier & smoother than premium brands of ice creams such as Movenpick & Haagen Dazs, & less saccharine than Ben & Jerry. It was a happy dilemma narrowing down what to order from our favourite flavours - Mao Shan Wang durian, Alphoynso mngo, Passionfruit, Bailey's, Amaretto & Whiskey. The last 3 flavours do actually have an alcoholic 'kick'. We eventually picked the luscious MSW durian & Bailey's. The gelato & yoghurt
trifles which are sold by the cup are good too. This Gelataria has limited seating in the form of leather sofas & armchairs which are positioned behind the L-shaped order counter. We found seats on Monday night but on weekends be prepared to have your gelato on the go.
