The The Pasta Shop by Sakae is situated at Wheelock Place near to Orchard Road MRT station so it’s pretty accessible. The The Pasta Shop by Sakae is situated at Wheelock Place near to Orchard Road MRT station so it’s pretty accessible. The signboard was quite cute looking and the idea of having western food like pasta, and burgers in Japanese style was interesting, and that’s why attracted my friend and I to go in there.

The restaurant wasn’t big, but it is really spacious. This may partly be due to the fact that there were no other customers around. It’s probably my first time dining in an empty restaurant
But ambience wise, it was peaceful and sparkling clean. Decorations were in bright orange and green, which puts diners in a happy mood. The staff was friendly and polite as well. Greeting us in Japanese and carrying a smile around. They were super attentive as well.

It puzzled me why there were no other customers around, because their food were not too bad either! I had a Salmon pasta, which smelled awesome. It’s cost around $16.90 from what I recalled, a little pricey but worth the price. The chunks of salmon was huge, and I actually still have a few pieces of them left by the time I finished my pasta.

My friend had the Chili Soft-Shell Crab pasta, which cost about $15.90. Unfortunately he dug into the food before I could get a decent photo of it, but trust me, the presentation was beautiful and appealing. The strong spicy aroma makes us hungry even before the dish reached our table. And that's probably one of the reasons why it made my friend gobble it up so quickly. Despite the generous amount of hot red chili sauce, the crab was still surprisingly crispy.

I grabbed a taste of it as well, and for all the diners craving for a good spicy dish, or just soft-shall crab fans, this is the dish to go for definitely. Just to add on, they offer Sapporo beer there as well, and it goes very well with the crab pasta.
