It is difficult to pick a venue for lunch when there are so many choices and one has 1+ hour for the meal. We popped into Ichiban Boshi only because a lunchmate wanted to collect stamps for her Ichiban loyalty card ($20/stamp). The salmon wazen had a piece of cooked salmon fillet, some salmon sashimi, deepfried soft shell crab served with a cup of chawanmushi, miso soup and rice. Salmon fillet was rather bland. As salmon sashimi was sliced too thickly I had to immerse it in the cup of miso soup

As salmon sashimi was sliced too thickly I had to immerse it in the cup of miso soup provided to poach it & get rid of the faint fishy smell. Soft shell crab and chawanmushi were ok. The wazen or set meal is better value than ordering the various items separately. Food was served quickly to facilitate fast customer turnover. Staff were polite if a little indifferent. Overall not bad but not exceptional dining experience either.
