My friends and I were craving for Korean food and since we were at the centre of Tanjong Pagar, we headed over to Woo Jung which is highly recommended by my Korean friends working here in Singapore. Entering the restaurant, it doesn't seem like your usual restaurant as they only have private dining rooms which can seat up to 8 paxs which is perfect for Koreans who are known to be loud after some alcohol. It is also good for locals like us who wants some peace dining as a family or with a group

Like any traditional Korean restaurants, a delightful spread of banchans (side dishes) were served when seated. Although is a of a minimal charge on the menu, you can request it to be topped up according to your preference. We didn't know what to start with so we ordered a Korean Hotpot which is like ramyeong stew with lots of kimchi, tofu, vegetables and also, huge meat dumplings! It was tasty, hearty, appetizing and delicious all at the same time!

For side dishes, we had the Chives Egg Pancake which has a very generous portion of chives on it. Although it tasted starchy and filling after a few bites, I was told this is how the Koreans prepare it traditionally.

Lastly, my Korean friend ordered this, the Acorn Jelly which is a home traditional dish eaten by many during Summer. The brown cubes of jelly sure does look daunting but it has a light sweetness of acorn with some spicy sauce drizzled over it. This might be an acquired taste for some as the texture is something you have to get over mentally after a few bites of it.

Overall, it was an adventurous lunch and I truly enjoyed my meal here. The service was great too as all the staffs are Korean as they service mostly the Korean crowd. Hence, you will face some difficulty if you do not know how to communicate in Korean with them.
