Tracing back, I have many years didn’t touch on Teochew-style Yam Paste. Unlike other Chinese Desserts, it was not a common foodie to be sold at hawker stall. My first time to join these two kinds of desserts together, the taste was amazingly great. Starchy solid Yam Paste was relatively sweet when taking along with savoury Gingko Barley soup. Instant gratification, I was so contented to have this combination. Full of Coconut Milk fragrant and infinity sugary taste, I admit it was calorie-busting yet appealingly tempting. Of course the price was slightly expensive for Yam Paste, it was $3.50 and $2.80 for Gingko Barley Soup.
