Istanbul Grill is a turkish restaurant set amidst loads of shisha places and turkish cuisine in the Arab street area. Food quality was good compared to the others I have tried along Arab street. I love falafel, so we ordered one of that. This was probably the more disappointing one because falafel is essentially a rather cheap cuisine, made from chickpeas into a small patty and then fried. Firstly, the dish lacked flavour because usually there are herbs added but I couldnt taste that at all. Secondly, it cost about $8 for 4 falafels. Seriously! how expensive are chick peas?

The shish kebab was however alot better. I would say the meat is grilled well done and not dry, with the chicken still tender and flavourful. The portion was huge as well. You can choose from either lamb, chicken or beef, and the dish is served with pilaf rice and side salads. Chicken is slightly cheaper at $16.90 whereas the other 2 are at $18.90.

Lastly, just for fun because we saw another table ordering it, we ordered this funny balloonish looking bread! This is called ballon Ekmek, and inside is just filled with air thats you it is puffed up like that. There is really nothing speicla about it, except its abit chewy.. reminds me abit like the tissue prata.

Overall I think the food quality is good, price is rather reasonable for the quality although you can definitely find cheaper and similar dishes in the area.
