look at the colors!

the marinated seaweed and radish were a good start to the meal.

then those thick cuts of sashimi. the salmon was thick and succulent.

and of course, I left the rest to the last.

moving on to the baked cheese scallops, the cheese sauce was so good that I used the last of it to put onto my alaskan crab.

but then i decided that it tasted even better with the tempura sauce. YUM!

the meat although fried, was crispy on the outside and still tender and juicy within. of course, i loved that i didn't have to fight with tooth and nail to get to the meat. it was already thoughtfully peeled halfway. and the remaining part had a soft shell exterior that was easily cracked to reveal the meat within.

a very good dinner indeed.

This was on the separate pull out menu. one of the two chef's recommendations.Spicy garlic beef gozen. ($23.90)and boy was i pleased with what I got. This was a meat lover's delight. The sliced black pork salad was a nice appetizer to kickstart the meal. but the leaves of lettuce were as insubstantial as the slices of pork before being drizzled with sesame sauce. I wish there were more greens. Premium beef fillet sliced and marinated in spicy garlic sauce kept hot on the burner.Be careful to turn

Premium beef fillet sliced and marinated in spicy garlic sauce kept hot on the burner.

Be careful to turn down the heat though, such that the meat doesn't overcook.

The sauce made it very palatable with rice and before you know it, you would've finished the entire serving of rice.

The side of tamago topped with salmon and spicy cod roe mayonnaise taste just like the ones in Itacho. This main was filling but not an overload on meat. Yum!

This Ichiban Boshi branch is okay when you go during the weekends. Not much people and the restaurant dining area is quite big. When you exit Takashimaya mall, it is very convenient. This place is suitable for dinner after shopping. The sushi is fresh but sometimes there are no varieties on the conveyor. You have to order and wait for them to serve you. The wasabi is fresh and they always refill the green tea on their own initiative. Overall rating is good.
