The Buttermilk Waffles with a scoop of ice-cream S$8.90.The waffles is crispy and soft and slightly buttermilk taste in it.A choice of a scoop ice-cream makes it perfect. You can also opt for choice of chocolate fudge, mixed berries sauce, salted caramel fudge or maple syrup.

Tagliatelle olla carbonara with bacon and mushroom S$12.90. Loving the texture of flat noodles. The carbonara is creamy and cheesy and mixed thoroughly with the spaghetti.

Various of interesting homemade ice-cream flavors are available here. Premium Mao Shan Wang durian ice-cream was a hit. It is my favourite of all and in spur moment, I thought i was having the real fruit. They are generous with the ingredients used to enhance the true flavors of the fruit in ice-cream or sorbet form. Some interesting flavors such as passionfruit beer sorbet, bubblegum, chocolate earl grey and more are cool ideas from the owner.

Takeaway ice-cream is available as well. S$12.90 for 1 pint of ice-cream that able to fit in two flavors. However, premium Mao Shan Wang durian ice-cream is offering at S$16.90 instead.
If you are around Old Airport Road area, perhaps you would like to drop by this neighbourhood cafe for their homemade ice-cream. The cafe is one suitable place to visit to chill in the hot weather.
P/S: The cafe does not charge 10% service charge and 7% GST.

The Blackforest Shortcake ($4.80) is rather normal. The chocolate taste is just nice, but the top layer felt more like cream cheese than whipped cream. The tinge of cherry taste is absent as well, making it feel less like a black forest cake.

The Buttermilk Waffles with Italian Cookies & Mango Passionfruit ($11.90) is also rather disappointing. The waffles is slightly crisp and soft, but the buttermilk taste was less apparent. The Italian Cookies and Mango Passionfruit ice creams tasted chocolatey, fruity and sweet, but are otherwise rather normal.

A great addition to this neighbourhood as this place did not had a ice cream parlour (though there is another Korean ice cream parlour that opened recently quite near to Brawn & Brains). The service staffs are friendly though they could have handled orders better. If you are around the Old Airport area looking for something to chill in the hot weather, this place is one suitable place to visit!

The Hideout is a new cafe situated at Cassia Crescent; a stone's throw away from Guillemard Road that focuses on their gelato which is claimed to be made in-house. Since it is one of the specialties, I decided to go for their Buttermilk Waffles with ice-cream ($8.90), going with the Chocolate Hazelnut flavour. Those who prefers their waffles soft would like this rendition; the waffles were so moist it melts-in-the-mouth. While the Buttermilk flavour was evident, we felt that it could be further enhanced as it seemed to stop short of it. The Chocolate Hazelnut ice-cream was fine though; it was smooth and had traces of cookie crumbs to bite and tasted rather similar to Ferrero Rocher.

We also tried their Earl Grey Mousse ($4.90) was rather standard fare; the mousse was smooth and the vanilla-base cake went with the Earl Grey accents, though there was nothing much to shout about either.
