I have been a patron for Lai Lai Beef Noodles for a few years and I always left the place with a full stomach. The set meal consists of the beef noodles, bubble milk tea with pearls and a taiwan side dish. Some of the side dishes are, cold tofu with century egg, fried brinjal with pork floss, salted crispy chicken etc. The salted crispy chicken is one of my favorite as the taste is just right. It is totally worth the money, do visit Lai Lai if you have cravings for Taiwan snacks and beef noodles. continue reading

If you are a fan of Taiwanese beef noodles, then you must visit Lai Lai Casual Dining. The beef noodles here are excellent. The beef is stewed and in big chunks instead of miserly slices. If you like beef tendons, then you can choose them here. These tendons are generously given with big chunks. The sides like salt and pepper chicken is also good. The chilli sauce with fried shallots complements the fried chicken really well. continue reading

Went Lai Lai for lunch before heading to Bugis to shop. I had one of their sides. It's under the appetizers category but i find this pretty filling. It is actually roti prata wrapped with cheese and egg. It is really tasty! I savour the entire dish on my own! The salad at the side was pretty common. As for the rolls, the prata on the outside is crispy and tasty and the cheese and eggs are soft and fragrant. Will order this again on my next visit! continue reading

My friend and I were waiting for our friends to come before we can head for our steamboat dinner. As we were early and felt hungry, we headed to the liang seah lai lai to sit and chill. The liang seah branch is pretty quiet on weekdays, it was a great place to sit and chill. We ordered a plate of braised pig intestine. Did not order too much food as we were going for steamboat buffet later. The pig intestine was braised perfectly, it was very tender. a little oily but it was very tasty. not too filling but just enough to keep us full till our friends came. continue reading

Lai lai is more commonly known for its excellent beef noodles, however i had an opportunity to try their mee sua and found it a let down. Compared to the beef noodles, the mee sua is a 4/10 in terms of taste. Or perhaps its an acquired taste? Its supposedly taiwan mee sua with a choice of topping (mine was shredded chicken, the other choices were pork if im not wrong). The size of the bowl gave me a shock when it arrived - it was minuscule. And the starchy soup had a weird taste to it, even after adding alot of vinegar and pepper. continue reading
