We went to Manna during lunch time, there was the queue, but we were seated shortly. The place was a bit old and does not look very clean though, but it was crowded. They gave us a special room as there were around 7 of us.I ordered BBQ Beef set menu $11.50 ++ = $13.50They gave us many side dishes and free flow somemore!!!I think that's the reason why ppl like to eat there, it's quite worth it!The side dishes includes radish, kimchi, pancake, veggies, etc.The pancake was nice, I like it.The beef is not bad, quite juicy. After our meal, they gave us fruits too!! I think all is included in the set menu.Too bad I forgot to take photos. So overall it's not bad, can try this restaurant if you like Korean food, esp the freeflow side dishes continue reading

As I had a good experience at Manna previously, I decide to visit this restaurant again. This time, it is for dinner (instead of lunch). Unfortunately, I feel that the food doesn't taste as good as I have expected. Ordered the spicy stir fried pork belly (as shown in the second picture) and the steam egg (as shown in the third picture). I feel that the spicy pork belly is too oily and the pork belly seems over-cooked (a bit hard). As for the steam egg, it is quite tasty but I feel it will be better if the chef adds in some ingredients (instead just egg alone), especially so when this dish is $10 (yes, for eggs only). In short, I am slighly disappointed with my dinner experience. continue reading

I've always heard rave reviews about Manna Restaurant located along Telok Ayer Street but never had the chance to check it out, till I attended a course nearby that day. When we entered the restaurant, its interior design made me feel like I had entered an old Chinese restaurant, but somehow I feel cosy in there heehee. Here's snapshots of what we ordered:The dishes were all pretty authentic. I especially loved the Spicy Stir-fried Chicken ($18++)! It was stir-fried with chicken slices and rice cake and kimchi, & the spice reminded me of Korea! You must try this if you visit this restaurant. We ordered a small Assorted Pancakes dish ($20++) & I thought of the one I had for my first dinner in Seoul in Mar. But a pity that when it turned cold it didn't taste as nice anymore... & wonder why was it more expensive than the Spicy Stir-fried Chicken? tsktskThankfully my friend was daring enough to try out the Bean Paste Stew ($15++) as I know that not everyone can take the smell of this stew. Fortunately she enjoyed it & thought that it tasted just like the Chinese bean paste. But 1 bad thing is there wasn't a lot of stew for the price we paid, the pot was pretty shallow. We also liked the 6 different types of side dishes served, but were too full to ask for refill haha. In fact we could only eat about 1/3 of the Stir-fried Chicken & I asked to takeaway the remainder home, which was finished up by my family pretty quickly. continue reading
