I was looking around for some light bites to bring back to office as my lunch was not very filling. I saw this popiah stall from where I was sitting so I decided to buy it instead of looking around for other good. Each popiah roll costs $1.50 which is pricier than other popiahs around which are selling at $1.20. I got two rolls of popiah and requested for chilli for one roll. The popiah seems a little larger than the normal ones though so perhaps that it why it is more expensive. However, I still think it is overpriced as the main ingredient, the turnips are quite little. Also, I find the popiah to be a little too dry and the popiah skin is also quite hard to chew. In terms of taste, the popiah is also not fantastic - it is too salty for my liking. I don't think I will buy from them again as the high price is not justified by the taste. continue reading

Was asked to packet popiah home, therefore i looked around for any popiah stall. The usual popiah you can get anywhere, nothing fascinating or special. The ingredietns were not hot, but warm, still acceptable, the chilli were quite good too. The stall owner was quite generous with the ingredients too. continue reading

There were so many stalls serving carrot cake, I didn't know where to buy from. This stall had quite a crowd of people waiting for their food, so I decided to order from here. The carrot cake was sweet, with the right amount of black sauce. There was not too much chai po, which did not make it too salty too. There wasn't much of a burnt taste. Some of the pieces of carrot cake were too big, not chopped up properly. The proportion of egg and carrot cake was good. Have to eat it hot for it to be at its optimum flavour and to get the best food experience out of it! continue reading

It's located at the famous tiong bahru market but there's nothing special for the popiah. It's selling at $1.50 each. The price is slightly more expensive than others. Yet, it's just a normal popiah that you can find it from any other place. No unique taste and the skin is too thick. Wondering how the stall can survive at tiong bahru market which is famous in good food. continue reading
