Signature Dishes
Recently I noticed that the cafe was offering delivery through Feast Bump SG and I decided to try it out. For $5, I could the dishes from the cafe delivered to me. Although not all the items were available on the delivery menu, but the selection was not bad. The website was easy to use and payment was by paypal or any credit card. Although it was raining when the delivery arrived, the delivery was well within the stated time. Out of the 7 items ordered, only 6 items were in the bags delivered. The summer berries tart ($3.50) and sweet potato & kale tortilla with tomato jam ($3.50) which I had ordered, were missing. But there was another item which was sweet potato fries in the bag.Fruity Granola ($6.50)with vanilla bean infused greek yoghurt & fresh berriesIt smelt quite vanilla when I opened it. The granola was separated from the yogurt and berries to maintain its crispy and crunchiness. The yoghurt was quite yummy on its own. When mixed together, the mouth was filled with a mix of fruity juicy sweet from the fruit, and the crunchy earthy taste from granola.Bircher with a twist ($5.50)oats, organic soy milk, chia seeds, banana, almond butter, goji berries, coconut yoghurt, sunflower seeds, homemade granolaIt tasted of fermentation and bland, which I added a bit of sugar to make it more palatable. It was quite nutty and crunchy, with lots of fibre.Moroccan Souk Kebabs ($14)new zealand lamb, quinoa, pumpkin, chickpea, sultana, onion, almond, ras el hanout 10 spicesThe lamb was full of spices flavour and was not gamey in taste. The quinoa was moist and full of fruity sweetness. Interesting flavours.Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding ($3.50)organic soy milk, chia seeds, dates, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, bananaThe taste was not too bad, chocolaty and not too bland. However it was grainy and irritating to the throat.Coconut Maca Energy Bar ($3.50)date, almond, cashew, sunflower seeds, vanilla, coconut flakes, cocoa nibsAlthough it looked dirty green, it tasted chocolaty and nutty.Sweet Potato Fries ($3.50)sweet potato, parika, cayene pepper, mixed herbsIt was mushy, spicy and peppery. Not the usual crispy and light sweet potato fries which was commonly found.Overall the food was not bad. It gave one a healthy feel after eating and one felt rather full easily. I was upset that the order was incomplete. I wish that the cafe had called me up if the item was not available.

What is so special about this hidden find along Cecil Street is that they concentrate a lot on healthy food items – it is easy to spot quinoa, kale and chia seeds etc on the menu even during a cursory glance. Health food items and products are also being retailed on the shelves.Setting is rustic, relaxing and comfortable – wooden stools and simple tables with potted plants on nearly every table. What really touched us was the heartfelt service of the young service crew who would smile when making suggestions or taking our orders (place order at the front with payment upfront); they even took care to clean up coffee accidentally sloshed onto the saucer upon serving. The Mediterranean Quinoa Salad (SGD$11.00) made up of chickpeas, quinoa, kale, cucumber, cherry tomato, capsicum, carrot slivers, Spanish onion, parsley, mesclun and haloumi. When it arrived I was stunned by the seemingly-huge portion but thankfully when I dug through it, I realised the kale canopy made up most of the top layer and the quinoa at the bottom was not too much. It was a tasty and utterly healthy salad filled with superfood and I loved the “clean” taste of the entire dish, enhanced by the slightly stronger pierce of Spanish onion bits. The Oven-baked Seabass with Mushroom Risotto (SGD$14.00) consisted of fresh seabass, aborio rice, garlic, shitake mushroom, shimeiji mushroom and coriander. The entire dish looked so pretty in white. He enjoyed the healthy portion and taste, citing it as “unique but good”. Needless to say, the plate was polished clean.Moroccan Souk Kebabs (SGD$14.00) comprising NZ lamb, quinoa, pumpkin, chickpeas, sultanas, onion, almonds and ras el hanout 10 spices. This was no doubt the most flavourful and tasty of the lot, especially lovely when the teeth sank into the tender, well-marinated lamb, basking in the aroma of the spices. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2016/04/lunch-at-elements-co-cafe-raffles-place.html

Full review on http://www.nahmj.com/2016/01/06/elements-and-co-cafe-singapore-cecil-street-tanjong-pagar/The space is pretty industrial as it uses lots of wood material and green, hence it provided a softer touch. And it has high ceilling, therefore, you will the cafe spacious. It has a mixed of bar tables and normal dinning table which was thougthful.I went for takeaway, to share with my sister who’s florist shop is a stone throw away. Aloha Crab Cakes with Papaya And Basil Sauce ($11.50) makes a good light lunch. I didn’t think the papaya and basil sauce paired well with the crab cakes. I enjoyed better eating the crab cakes by itself, without the sauce. I would certainly prefer this dish with more salad. The Moroccan Souk Kebabs ($14.00) was the second dish I ordered from the All Day Menu. I love the lamb mince kebabs. The spice marinate was great for the kebabs. The quinoa with pumpkin, chickpea and sultana bed was filling. I felt it was a little too sweet contributed by both the pumpkin and sultana.Cappuccino ($4.50) was more than decent. A well balance cup with medium to low acidity and full body. It has a good nutty, milk chocolate and dark berry tone.Elements And Co Cafe Singapore is a good add to the area for tasty healthier option. Since it opened early, a good breakfast place option too.For more reviews, visit http://www.nahmj.com
